Supersize Me

I just saw this movie last night, a real eye opener. Basically, it's a documentary about a guy who does an experiment where he eats nothing but McDonalds for a whole month. He puts on 24 1/2 pounds in 30 days, becomes lethargic, does damage to his liver, and becomes addicted to fast food. They did interviews with lots of different people, including one man who has eaten over 19,000 big macs in the last 20 years. It was very interesting how the culture in this country is when it comes to food.

One thing that was pretty funny was they showed a bunch of 1st grade kids pictures of different people. Most of them couldn't recognize pictures George Washington, George Bush, or Jesus, but all of them knew who Ronald McDonald was... SAD!!!

Another thing is that it shows that we don't put emphasis on healthcare in this country, only sick care. We don't take care of ourselves until something is wrong, and everybody wants a quick fix. They want to lose weight while they watch TV or while they sleep.

Watch this movie, if nothing else it will make you think!

This movie was incredible. Though it wasn't the statistics that grossed me out...it was watching that dude eat all that food. It will be awhile till I eat from the golden arches again. And I love McDonalds too.

I heard about this movie when it was being made.
It's really sad that this nation is now experiencing one of the worst, if not THE worst obesity epidemics worldwide.

What makes me curious is, the reason the documentary was made I would assume is to draw out the reality of certain points we general public were basically aware of. But the fact that this guy went so far to really do things that would be detrimental to his own health...it just boggles the mind.
