Does this movie have its own thread yet? I don't know. It should.

My excitement for this movie cannot be contained.

I keep watching the clips on RottenTomatoes and then I found another bunch of clips here:

http://iesb.net/wb2005/062905.php

annnnd I'm SO excited

I also didn't even really like the first movie, I don't even really remember it, but this one, I'm just excited beyond belief! Is it because it's Depp? Because it's Tim Burton's work??? I don't know. I think it's both but also the fact of how weird and colorful and amazing it looks.

I want to see this movie, the night it opens or soon thereafter, at the IMAX in Atlantic City. Anyone wanna join??

just saw the movie yesterday, it was pretty decent. i thought they got the point accross that it's important to raise your kids right or they will turn out as monsters. i wasnt that impressed with johnny depp though, seemed a little stiff, i'm not sure he pulled it off. maybe it wouldve been better with more of a comedic actor in the role like jim carrey or something, i dunno

juicymango #16.1 juicymangoOG 2003

juicymango #16.1.1 juicymangoOG 2003

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

I really want those glasses..too bad the white ones are goggles like kam said, maybe I'll get them anyway!

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002

If I was a snow-border I'd wear those.

specialk #15 specialkOG 2003

I'm gonna start using the line, "You know you really shouldn't mumble....I can't understand a WORD you're saying" to everyone who annoys me when they talk. HAHAHAH!!!

socalgal #15.1 socalgalOG 2003

HAHAHAHA i LUVED that! that totally craked me up!

*i thought about usign it too but i would be doing it A LOT cause SO many peeps annoy me

specialk #15.1.1 specialkOG 2003

Hahaha....yeah, I'm the queen of overkill, so I figured it's ok, even though I'd be saying it all night at work, hahahahaha.

malibu #15.2 malibuOG 2001

i always use the old line from the old movie about "you have to speak up son im a little deaf in that ear."

thatdarngirl #14 thatdarngirlOG 2002

I loved the scene when they are entering the factory, with the puppets! And then later, the burn unit for the puppets "It's rather new"

tesoro #14.1 tesoroOG 2001

hahahaha! oh yea, that part cracked me up! hahaha

juicymango #14.1.1 juicymangoOG 2003

"that finale - WOW!"

forrestina #13 forrestinaOG 2002

the squirrels freaked me out. i hate squirrels.

socalgal #13.1 socalgalOG 2003

awww, for real?

i LUVED them, thought it was cute and funny!

forrestina #13.1.1 forrestinaOG 2002

they are just rats with fluffy tails. their nails! it was like a scene from a horror film. i thought they were going to draw blood.

socalgal #13.1.1.1 socalgalOG 2003

i must admit they did look kinda creepy when they were headed towards veruca but it was hilarious

forrestina #12 forrestinaOG 2002

wow i really liked it. it doesn't touch the old one tho.

tesoro #12.1 tesoroOG 2001

yea, i really liked this one..but..i really didnt like the new oompa loompas. or should i say oompa loomp. the old songs were way better..the new ones were kinda annoying.

forrestina #12.1.1 forrestinaOG 2002

i was cracking up at their dancing.

originalsnob #11 originalsnobOG 2004

What did we think of the fact that there was really only one oompa loopa that they digitally duplicated...even the one "Doris" was the same creepy little man but, with a blonde wig.

The puppets at the beginning, HA! The puppet burn unit LOL!!!

juicymango #11.1 juicymangoOG 2003

i loved that it was just the one dude duplicated, haha. I don't know, I really am a huge fan of the bizzarre, and this was right up my alley

socalgal #11.1.1 socalgalOG 2003

yeah i thought it was creative to use 1 guy for the oompa loompas. I luved their little dance w/each song. lol

deanh77 #11.1.1.1 deanh77Founder

I thought it was annoying at first, but it made for some funny scenes, like Doris, the psychologist, and the narrator at the end.

tesoro #10 tesoroOG 2001

YES!! it was awesome!!! loved it!

juicymango #9 juicymangoOG 2003

Saw it and LOVED it!!

fivezero #9.1 fivezeroOG 2003

juicymango #9.1.1 juicymangoOG 2003

socalgal #9.2 socalgalOG 2003

i LUVVVED it also! i luv johnny depp!

i dug the little oompa loompa dances! lol

juicymango #8 juicymangoOG 2003

I read the book last night!! It was SO stinkin good. And weird. I couldn't put it down. I read it from about 1-2 in the morning so today, i am very tired.

wah wah wah lol

juicymango #8.1 juicymangoOG 2003

I just watched the whole trailer again and there are so many parts in it that are word-for-word from the book. OH man i'm so excited

thefunkyfresh #8.2 thefunkyfreshFounder

somebody told me yesterday that the book had all this weird symbolism stuff in it. like a lot of it represented demo stuff. dont know if i believe that or care though

juicymango #8.2.1 juicymangoOG 2003

hmm i don't know, maybe i missed it lol

forrestina #8.2.2 forrestinaOG 2002

i think there is some weird demo cult that bases their "practice" upon the old film.

originalsnob #8.3 originalsnobOG 2004

If I read the book will I then love it? Only thing I thought was okay was the ending.

sunshyne #8.4 sunshyneOG 2004

so did you miss the oompa loompas being cannibal pygmies or not? it would be so great if someone had the guts to make the movie as twisted as dahl's story.

juicymango #8.4.1 juicymangoOG 2003

cannibal?? they love cocoa beans

ilikebirds #8.4.1.1 ilikebirdsOG 2002

yea they weren't cannibal from what i remember. fun loving village/family oriented peoples no?

sunshyne #8.4.1.2 sunshyneOG 2004

ok so i made up tha cannibal part. they really only ate caterpillers...

juicymango #7 juicymangoOG 2003

YAY this comes out tomorrow!!! :) :) :)

i bought the book today. I'm gonna go read it now. I'm so excited.

YAYYYYYY

in other book news I almost picked up Chronicles of Narnia but the thing was like 8000000 pages and I do NOT have time to read :(

malibu #7.1 malibuOG 2001

well the chronicles of narnia is actually 7 different books.

juicymango #7.1.1 juicymangoOG 2003

yeah, there was one huge book with all the books in it i guess? and they had the separate books too but I wanted to get the whole thing. lol

ilikebirds #7.2 ilikebirdsOG 2002

the original and real oompa loompas are black midgets brought over from africa!

but they obvisouly had to change that from the first movie.

the book is dark.

flomojopoanode #6 flomojopoanodeFounder

I never saw the first one. I like depp, so I want to see this one. Should I see the old one first?

iwz #6.1 iwz

Hm. I dunno.

The original is great.

Maybe you should watch that first, just because.

But the new one is not a remake of the old one. It's a movie from the book. So, I dunno if it really matters.

thefunkyfresh #6.1.1 thefunkyfreshFounder

i haven't seen the original since i was a kid. it might be one of those things where it seemed great then, but is stupid now. i do love gene wilder though

iwz #6.1.1.1 iwz

no, the movie is a classic. i think it holds up very well, and yeah, gene wilder is the man

thatdarngirl #6.2 thatdarngirlOG 2002

I'm not that impressed with the old one. I used to like it well enough..but eh. Gene Wilder doesn't really do it for me (he's kind of a creep) and now that I've seen the new one I can say that it's waaaaay better.

perrin #5 perrinOG 2004

I was really looking forward to seeing this when it first came out but after seeing the trailer I'm not to sure I'm even going to bother seeing it.

web-toedchloe #4 web-toedchloeOG 2001

I've always thought that this movie was a huge tease. It's like, "let's make a movie for kids about candy - they'll love it!" You know what I love? Actual candy! I think I would've liked it much more if it came with a free chocolate bar or something. But as is, it's a tease!!!!

tesoro #4.1 tesoroOG 2001

haha, i know. i love chocolate...and this movie just makes me want to go swimming in the chocolate river.

juicymango #4.2 juicymangoOG 2003

lol

socalgal #3 socalgalOG 2003

I cannot wait to see this movie.

the guys on the radio station i listen to are excited & talk about the movie every morning. they were reading an interview w/tim burton and how there's a scene where there are squirrels working in the factory etc and they wanted him to have one squirrel & do some editing to make it seem like there were a ton of squirrels. anyway tim burton did not want that so they had all real squirrels and trained them.

thatdarngirl #2 thatdarngirlOG 2002

I am also extremely excited for this. Johnny Depp just looks totally out-of-his mind and TIm Burton never disapoints.

originalsnob #2.1 originalsnobOG 2004

Don't touch that squirrels' nuts!

ilikebirds #1 ilikebirdsOG 2002

I too want to see this movie.

juicymango #1.1 juicymangoOG 2003

well come for the IMAX experience. I want to see this multiple times, in multiple theaters sitting in multiple areas of the theater to really experience it from multiple angles.

ilikebirds #1.1.1 ilikebirdsOG 2002

i'm to small for the imax..

id be like.. staring at only 1/4 of the screen.. and i'd miss the whole movie.

i'm more fit for like a 13'' television.. where's that at!
