I also didn't even really like the first movie, I don't even really remember it, but this one, I'm just excited beyond belief! Is it because it's Depp? Because it's Tim Burton's work??? I don't know. I think it's both but also the fact of how weird and colorful and amazing it looks.
I want to see this movie, the night it opens or soon thereafter, at the IMAX in Atlantic City. Anyone wanna join??

just saw the movie yesterday, it was pretty decent. i thought they got the point accross that it's important to raise your kids right or they will turn out as monsters. i wasnt that impressed with johnny depp though, seemed a little stiff, i'm not sure he pulled it off. maybe it wouldve been better with more of a comedic actor in the role like jim carrey or something, i dunno

I loved the scene when they are entering the factory, with the puppets! And then later, the burn unit for the puppets "It's rather new"

they are just rats with fluffy tails. their nails! it was like a scene from a horror film. i thought they were going to draw blood.
i must admit they did look kinda creepy when they were headed towards veruca but it was hilarious

yea, i really liked this one..but..i really didnt like the new oompa loompas. or should i say oompa loomp. the old songs were way better..the new ones were kinda annoying.
i was cracking up at their dancing.
What did we think of the fact that there was really only one oompa loopa that they digitally duplicated...even the one "Doris" was the same creepy little man but, with a blonde wig.

yeah i thought it was creative to use 1 guy for the oompa loompas. I luved their little dance w/each song. lol
I thought it was annoying at first, but it made for some funny scenes, like Doris, the psychologist, and the narrator at the end.

I read the book last night!! It was SO stinkin good. And weird. I couldn't put it down. I read it from about 1-2 in the morning so today, i am very tired.

I just watched the whole trailer again and there are so many parts in it that are word-for-word from the book. OH man i'm so excited
somebody told me yesterday that the book had all this weird symbolism stuff in it. like a lot of it represented demo stuff. dont know if i believe that or care though

i think there is some weird demo cult that bases their "practice" upon the old film.

yeah, there was one huge book with all the books in it i guess? and they had the separate books too but I wanted to get the whole thing. lol
the original and real oompa loompas are black midgets brought over from africa!
but they obvisouly had to change that from the first movie.

I'm not that impressed with the old one. I used to like it well enough..but eh. Gene Wilder doesn't really do it for me (he's kind of a creep) and now that I've seen the new one I can say that it's waaaaay better.
I was really looking forward to seeing this when it first came out but after seeing the trailer I'm not to sure I'm even going to bother seeing it.
I've always thought that this movie was a huge tease. It's like, "let's make a movie for kids about candy - they'll love it!" You know what I love? Actual candy! I think I would've liked it much more if it came with a free chocolate bar or something. But as is, it's a tease!!!!

the guys on the radio station i listen to are excited & talk about the movie every morning. they were reading an interview w/tim burton and how there's a scene where there are squirrels working in the factory etc and they wanted him to have one squirrel & do some editing to make it seem like there were a ton of squirrels. anyway tim burton did not want that so they had all real squirrels and trained them.
I am also extremely excited for this. Johnny Depp just looks totally out-of-his mind and TIm Burton never disapoints.
Don't touch that squirrels' nuts!

well come for the IMAX experience. I want to see this multiple times, in multiple theaters sitting in multiple areas of the theater to really experience it from multiple angles.
i'm to small for the imax..
id be like.. staring at only 1/4 of the screen.. and i'd miss the whole movie.
i'm more fit for like a 13'' television.. where's that at!
