ok is tivo any cheaper, these days? because i want TIVO TO GO, that's definitley hot, i just can't figure out why i would pay $13/month when vcr's (or bit torrent) is free
vcr = lame, and too much work
bit torrent = pretty cool, but could get you in trouble. plus takes longer.
tivo = automatic, great interface, pause live tv, etc
$50 nowadays after rebate, but it's still $12.95/mo. although you can still buy a lifetime subscription for $300 i think.
this isn't standard w/your cable? we have this but its called DVR and comes standard from your cable provider.
ehh... Tivo is going down the tubes:

I think I'll fix my MythTV box up.
Well, this deal has already expired. But!
You can still get a 40-hour tivo for $200 and then use the $150 rebate to get a $50 tivo. http://www.tivo.com/2.1.asp
The monthly fee is $12.95.
Wow. Thank you. I might get it. Gonna read up on it first, and see it's worth it for me. I'm not big into the tube. But, there's times when I miss the show I want to watch and I hate using that auto-record on the VCR and buying blank tapes.
