We rented and watched this yesterday - we both agreed it was very cool. There have been so many crappy, generic and/or remade movies lately, it was so nice to watch something very unique. The art was fantastic; you could defintely see how the creators originally envisioned it as a comic. I also loved the whole mother-daughter relationship, and how Helena's mother was both the Dark Queen and the White Queen, because that's how so many girls feel about their mothers. I wonder if boys were able to enjoy it on the same level.

the story reminded me a lot of my favorite book (a wrinkle in time). i thought it was well done. definitely more for a child's mind, but if i had watched this as a child i would've had major nightmares.

i remember that book, a lot of weird/cool stuff in there
the movie is also weird/cool. at least i thought so. i could see a child really enjoying this because there are things that children think about a lot-good vs evil. it's a visual assault.

it was released in the states, small runs though. It played in pittsburgh but I missed it, I really want to see it.
