so, everyone saw Pirates of the Carribean this weekend, right?

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest sailed into theaters this weekend and absolutely plundered the box office for all it was worth, setting a couple of records along the way. The movie took top honors for the most money made over a 3-day opening weekend, hauling in over $130 million and absolutely trouncing Spider-man which had comfortably held the record since 2002 with $115 million. For icing on the cake, Pirates 2 also earned more booty in a single day than any other film, bringing in $55 million and nosing out Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith's previous record of $50 million.

this has to be the worst movie i have ever seen. i felt stupid wasting my money on it. we saw it with a friend of ours who has seen it 8 times. I could never sit through this movie again, it was so bad. the following are my reasons for finding this movie lame -
1. Why the cannibals? How does that fit into anything? Why is Jack suddenly their king, and why does it matter, if they are just going to eat him anyway?
2. I'm too tired to keep thinking about this movie.
I just saw this for the second time last night (hey- free movie is good!) and it was still awesome. Everyone must see it!

it's like, i used to watch smallville and alias.
but i missed a few episodes.
i haven't watched either of them since. i will have to watch them all in order, or never again at all.
maybe i'm a little crazy about that tho.
I'm the same way. I watched the first season of Alias, and then stopped for a while. Then I caught one recently and was so lost that it wasn't worth my time to try to figure out the story. I think movies are different from series, though. They try to make them somewhat independent of each other. Except Star Wars.

you're not crazy. i'm like that too. others are as well. i've dropped a number of series because of missed episodes. as for Pirates2 i've been ducking that movie ever since it came out. literally every couple of days someones like "dude, we're gonna see it! come on!" or "we're gonna see it again! c'mon!" it's hard, but netflix will send the first one in a few days, and only THEN will i see the second one.
thats what i did. i think its easier to appreciate it when you see it in succession. Next year, im gonna rent the first and the second one and then go see the third. Im already busy memorial day weekend
very entertaining movie, good special effects and such. not as much of a focus on characters as the first
I agree on all accounts! I think, regarding the "not as much of a focus on characters" is why I like the first one better.
i enjoyed that they continued the joke about william being a eunuch. i giggled heavily.

This was so good! I can honestly say I haven't enjoyed a movie as much as this one in a long time.
Just saw this last night. REALLY entertaining. I liked it. But yeah it was really long. But still good. ha

I liked the movie... good action sequences and stuff.. um.. wheel thing... WAY too long... good for like 2 min, but after that... no.
