has anyone noticed hat the entire film industry, as far as quallity has really gone down hill? it seems movies just keep getting worse and worse!

for instance, i went into blockbuster last night to get a movie, and after ten minutes or so i walked out with nothing. there was litterally nothing in there that wouldn't drop your IQ 8 notches after watching it.

and it wasn't just last night. i've went into the video store and come out empty handed like four times in the last two months.

and yet people still go to the movies on a regular bases and see movies like: little man, big mammas house, white chicks, doctor doolittle 17...

and to think, the movie industry makes HUNDREDS of dollars every year...it's obscene.

anyways, that's my rant...talk amongst yourselves.

chris and I decided that if it was a matter of life or death to see the new Eddie Murphy/Eddie Murphy movie Norbit, we would rather be killed

tortured, even

see i thought this too but meanwhile the two brothers sitting next to me were falling out of their chairs and turning red from laughter and excitement to see this movie. but after dreamgirls i do want eddie murphy to start doing standup or something good again.

I think if i had to choose between this movie and passing a flaming porcupine through my lower intestine, i'd go with the less painful option of not having to sit through the movie..

I recently enjoyed Stranger Than Fiction

Oh, and it is also a good name for a movie because it is shared with a Bad Religion song.

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder ·

it's also an age-old saying

HAHAHA!

thatdarngirl thatdarngirlOG 2002 ·

Yes, a saying I like because it is a Bad Religion song.

I really liked that movie too. It was nice to have a movie that was an original thought, not a remake of a '70's tv show.

summer and i were talking about this...it's almost at the point where the only thing new that you can watch are kids films. netflix helps since there's such a big library of old films to choose from.

DOes the movie industry really make HUNDREDS of dollars every year? wow, that IS obscene.

this is why the industry is losing so much money. They are making lots of money yes, but not as much as they used to. There are few movies you are dying to go see anymore

A
alexOG 2001 ·

definitely.

i watched the original longest yard on tv the other night and the cinematics were laughable... not that the movie was terrible, just that by today's standards it was pretty much home video quality. but there are bad movies from every era, you just have to look hard to find em. most of the mainstream movies suck tho.

thefunkyfresh thefunkyfreshFounder ·

i think its funny that all those movies you mentioned are "african american" movies

you racist!!!!

A
alexOG 2001 ·

haha, wow. you're right, i didn't even realize that.

C
chuggieOG 2003 ·

well the sooner you realize you're a racist the better..

Well the industry is a far cry from the 80's when you had theaters with only 2-4 screens. I remember when cinema 10 in Succasunna was a third the size it is now and only had 4 theaters. Now movies are like candy bars in a vending machine. Plenty of different brands, but nothing appealing. The only movies that make any money nowadays are superhero flicks or the Star Wars prequels. The industry is losing money by trying to release so many movies.

A
alexOG 2001 ·

yeah, and most of the superhero movies are awful, and all of the star wars prequals suck.

B
brothermanOG 2004 ·

You suck!!
I like the Spiderman movies. I also enjoyed Superman Returns.

A
alexOG 2001 ·

i liked the spiderman movies too, as well as x men 1 and 2, but the majority of superhero movies that come out are really dumb. like the hulk, the punisher, the fantastic four, dare devil, elektra. they were all terrible movies.
