The Brothers Quay
After jamming with my band Saturday night, the dude who's house we were practicing music at, told me he had these avant garde animation shorts that I should stay to watch. And, with that said, I didn't need any persuasion at all.. 'cause avant garde annnnd animation together, and what do you get? Something delightful to me, indeed, yessir, yessir. So, I proceeded upstairs to the television's quarters. Let me tell you... I must suggest by all means.. if you like experimental Indie films shorts at all, and stop-motion animation with different brick-a-brac that looks like they were all scrounged at various pawn shops throughout Eastern Europe... well, you'd absolutely love what these brillant fellows have done.

It's done by 2 guys, that are brothers. They were born in PA, USA, but live England as recluses... (they haven't set foot out into society in ages), speak with like a Germanesque accent, and their animations would make you think they've grown up in some part of what was once the USSR.

Actually, one or more of their animation shorts on the DVD that I saw, was made in homage to a great animator of the same ilk, that hailed from Prague, Czech Rep.. Whom I don't recall the name of.. but, I'll be sure to look it up sometime.
I recommend that you Google "The Brothers Quay," if you're interested in reading more about them. Maybe you'll see fit to purchase their DVD that has a collection of shorts on it, spanning from 1984-1993. Oh, and the soundtrack accompanying these shorts, is as awesome as the animation itself.
