Girls & Video Games

tesoro by tesoroOG 2001 · Jul 8, 2005 · 191 views

I never realized how wide spread this facination with video games was w/ guys before dating Austin. My older brother was into some video games...but more of a computer junkie. He's actually more into gaming since being married. But when I thought about it....I think every single one of my guy friends is into video games, and not ONE of my girl friends is into them. When I was ages 8-12 I got into the normal amount of Nintendo/Sega Genesis games...and I occasionally have the desire to play some of those games.

I have tried to get into the new systems...the ones Austin has..PS2 & XBOX...but I just can't do it! I don't know what it is. I think the controllers are too complicated...R1/L2...please! The only games I can play and kinda have fun with are 1-either fighting type games because i just press random buttons and it seems to work...or, I do kinda like the Tony Hawk Underground game cuz, again...I just press a lot of buttons really fast, and I seem to get points.

So, what is it? Why aren't us girls into video games??? Or are any of the girls on here into them? Is it one of those masculine/feminine things...guys SHOULD be into them, so they are, and vice versa?

Questions of the universe...posed to eZabel...once again.

N64 and up are way to complicated for me, cept for like Golden Eye because that's the best game ever. I can still play by Super NES for hours though (original Sim City rules).

I am an RPG junkie though. I've been one since I was fourteen or younger. I play text-based though, not this WoW stuff (it baffles me). But it's not D&D either..it's called free-form.

WoW is simple compared to many other RPGs actually

i'm not a big video game player, I see it as a big waste of time. so sometimes when I feel like wasting time I'll play madden or nba live. i dont really like getting into games that are a big commitment. i did play knights of the old republic 2 recently, but that's a rarity for me.

I think anyone on this site can tell you that I'm completely obsessed with "Morrowind". Its sequel is coming out on xBox 360 this winter and I'm totally stoked! I must have played Morrowind for at least 200 hours. It started when Donovan was still in college and had finals. He gave me his xBox because I didn't have cable in my new house and to keep himself from playing when he should've been studying. I was totally hooked on Morrowind. That's the hallmark of a really great game -- that you don't want to stop playing it because there's so much to do. There's a few good RPG's like that.

Other than that, I like "Burnout" because it's fun to play a car game where the object is to crash into other cars. And the "Simpsons" games for xbox are pretty cool. It's fun to see how they're related to the show.

almost bought morrowind yesterday for like 20 bucks, it looked great

then i said. "PUH, HA.... YEAH RIGHT, when am I going to break from WoW for this trash"

web-toedchloe #3.1.1 web-toedchloeOG 2001

I said, I'm never going to stop playing Morrowind for long enough to get into WOW. Ha!

yay #3.1.1.1 yayOG 2004

then you know exactly what i mean!

i want to, but realistically just can't happen

web-toedchloe web-toedchloeOG 2001

Oh, I know all too well.

Yeah... i find that i can get sucked into most games, WoW sucks up 99.9 % of my gaming time, altho if i just wanna play for a few min or relax, ill play Counter Strike or Half Life or something.

Katie is CRAZY good at Tetris... so good that i dont wanna play her in it... cause its not fair.

tesoro #2.1 tesoroOG 2001

oh! i totally forgot about tetris!!! i love tetris! i have it on my phone. we've looked for it on xbox but can't seem to find it. i'd so kick butt at that!

juicymango #1 juicymangoOG 2003

Hmm I love some video games. I love RPG's i guess they are called, I really don't know anything about them. I like Crazy Taxi. Lol, it's the only driving game I like. I don't like any racing or fighting games because they annoy me. I like games with a story where you have to accomplish something, hehe.

I have been known to stay up all night playing videogames with Chris

it's gonna happen again now that we are both playing WoW lol
