yo what's the best way to get all the old systems? i'd love to have a bunch of people over and play some contra or NHL 96 or some goldeneye, but i can't be having all those systems at once, and multiple people have to play otherwise it's lame ... soooo what to do?
You have two choices:
1) Get a Wii in November. It will be able to play NES, SNES, N64, GameCube, Genesis and TurboGrafx16 games.
2) Use an emulator, and get some ROMs. You can use a PC, a Media Center PC, or like a modded Xbox to play them on your TV.
i like the 2nd idea better, to be honest, because i don't see myself ever paying for xbox live ...
would that emulator + Modded xbox + ROMs allow for some multiplayer action? i would KILLL for a sweet game of intoxicated mario kart with some people
I fail to see what the Nintendo Wii has in common with xbox live?
And, yeah, with a modded xbox, you can play with 4 players if you have enough controllers! it's really sweet.

ohhhhhh, i totally misunderstood. i thought you were talking abuot xbox live in relation to my first option.
So, anyway, you can still play on Live if you disable your modchip before you go on.
Look into softmodding your xbox too. I think that may be the way to go nowadays.
And upgrading your hard drive is probably really only needed if you want to copy xbox games onto the drive so you don't need the DVD anymore
According to the policy you can't, BUT if you want to play with other guys you can. Technically you can't get caught doing it. But as long as you don't use it to your advantage its ok...
if you sign onto Xbox live with a modded xbox, you will immediately be banned.
you can disabled the mod, though, so it looks like a normal xbox and play on live.

dude xbox live is the best. But you've got to have a good game and some gamers to play with or it isn't worth it. But i don't see how it has to do with what he was saying...
yeah so i'll never have the time or energy to get an online game of halo 2 or anthing
but having 4 guys over and getting beers and mario kart, i see this happening very soon
