Need for Speed: Most Wanted

okay. I never used to be a fan of Need For Speed (NFS). The problem with these games was never in the graphics. The graphics were stellar. The problem was control. Very sloppy control. I hated the NFS series, and I especially thought the police factor was a bad idea.

Back on the PS1, I found Gran Turismo(GT). A game with decent graphics, and awesome control. I could even soup up my favorite cars. SO COOL. The first time I rented it, I played from like 8pm to 3am, without a memory card. I had a supra with a second stage turbo. it was hot. Then I had to turn it off, so I could get up for work (landscaping) at 5:30 am. hah. So addicted. LOVED that game.

The point is, the GT series was way better than the NFS series. Then I discovered NFS:Underground and Underground 2. SO COOL! You could do all the things you could in GT, and add special body kits, and exhausts, etc., etc. And the controls were fixed! They are very similar to the controls of GT.

Then NFS Most Wanted came out. I thought, bahhhh, another NFS with cops. Ghey.

Well, I was so wrong.

The controls are better than ever. Graphics, too. But...I like this game MORE than I like the NFS:Undergrounds, because....and I'm ashamed to say it...I LOVE the pursuits! LOVE EM! Funky and his bro, and I all crowd around and take turns getting HUGE pursuits with helicopters, and such. OH MAN! and we cause so much damage, and ram our way through police barriers! It's amazing! I have a gallardo right now, and I have to say, it's by far the best car we've had.

End of story: I bought it. I'd suggest everyone try it out, its really fun. I think the police pursuits actually make it more re-playable and more fun! So if you like race games, even just a smidge, try out NFS:Most Wanted. (don't expect much from the story, it's kinda ghey.)

Whatever. If we'd actually played the burnout version I was familiar with, and if I hadn't had 3 beers, I would've womped you.

Burnout is more arcade type experience. Not much realism. But I'll say: it's huge, huge fun. I liked Burnout quite a lot, but I dropped it when someone I know OVERWROTE my game file when I was 3/5 of the way through the game. Like three solid weeks of work. I was a sad gecko.

NFS:MW was a delightful suprise. Simple fun, pick up and play. The way you can bash through just about everything gives it a really good feel.

On 360 the gfx are pretty amazing, I like how they rendered this kind of darkly with wierd filters (greends and grays).

Despite the story being kinda bleh, at least the actors are great. And the way they film/rendered them is amazing.

this game looks kinda cool but it's extremely boring to watch. Sorry. haha.

yay! you should let her try a police chase! SO FUN.

AND I even like WATCHING police chases, when my friends are playing. I help out with the map to find safe points, or warn of road blocks. :D

I love the GT series. Great games. NFS never really got my attention, BUT I've played the new one briefly and it's a lot of fun. You're right. The control is definitely there.

I still think Forza Motorsport is my overall fave. Online play, baby.

I have not yet tried that. I hear great things about it, but have yet to try it.
