She forced me... neigh... BEGGED me to to buy a DS (mainly to shut me up for the plane trip to cali ;)
So, any suggestions for games? Anyone play on-line?

Other must-haves:
Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time (like a Mario RPG, so great)
Advanced Wars: DS (turn based strategy, great for a plane ride)
Kirby (awesome, unique 2D platformer, i love this game)
Trauma Center (you're a surgeon!)
Mario Kart (Best Mario Kart ever, online play is great too)
Super Mario 64 DS (if you haven't played it on the n64)
Brain Age ($20, di will be addicted)
Metroid Prime: Hunters (great metroid game, with online play too)
A few of my friends have DSes as well, and we should totally hook up a big multiplayer game of something. good times

Awsome. I'm new on the Nintendo Scene, so I'm still checking out the franchises.
For now I grabbed Starfox, which is awsome so far, and playable over wifi. I also grabbed some game called Shogun Empires (Turn based strategy). It was rated horible, but it's ok so far as an elaborate game of risk and it was only $10 at Toys R Us.
I would totally be down with a multiplay throwdown!
How do the friend codes work?
You can trade friend's codes with your friends, and then you can play against each other. Friend's codes are different from game to game, though, so that kinda stinks. It's pretty easy, even though it's not the ideal setup.
