The KayBee court settlement debacle.
by So I've been hearing rumors that the settlement sale at KayBee Oct 8-14, WON'T apply to Video Games/Systems. Here's some advice from a person with a little legal knowledge:
"I don't think they will refuse to apply it to games systems after you show them a copy of the settlement.
"If they do, get the name of the store, the name of the manager.
"Go to another KB store and try again - no point in beating your head against a wall.
"Successful or not, call KB Corporate and tell them about it - you might get free stuff in exchange for not calling the court. Then call the law firm that prosecuted the case and give them the name of the store and the name of the manager. You may also want to call the court to let them know. Ask for the clerk of the judge who is handling the case."

Well, I went last night and argues with two store managers (one over the phone), mainly how the signs they post in there store aren't legal documents, but the settlement document I had in my hand was. In the end they gave me the District Manager's phone number. I have yet to call him.
I wrote to the lawyer who represented the plaintiffs (the class in the class-action) and he stated (probably without reading my email) that the 30% off does not apply to video games, systems, etc.
I wrote back asking him in what legal document those limitations are stipulated. i have yet to get a response to that. I may call him later today, not sure.

shack is a mess. I don't know where to post there. oh well. I still have yet to hear back from the lawyer. I guess its a no-go. I think I might head over to Electronics Boutique and get an xbox though..
i went to my kaybee and asked about buying a game boy advance when the discount dates applied, and they said it wouldn't count for video games. so i went to EB and bought it used :(

Go back today with a copy of the settlement. Ask them where it says that. Then have the manager write his name on the document stating that. Then fax a copy of that to the court, and make a copy and write a letter to KB complaining.
