How old are you?

suchgr8heights by suchgr8heightsOG 2003 · Nov 19, 2004 · 341 views

Too old, sorry.

Oh, my age, great! Lets mack!

Hmmm, close enough! ;)

Does age matter to you when it comes to macking?
Do you have a certain range that you stick to?
How do you react when other people don't adhere to your standard on this issue?

Girls going for older guys
Boys going for older women
Older men going for younger women
Older women going for younger men

Or, here's a new one I've seen, how about this craziness: one shouldn't be going for older guys, since there aren't many of them and should be left for one's older friend.

What do you think?

wellll I'm about 2 years older than my husband. My sister is about 2 years older than her husband. My brother is about two years younger than this girl he 'likes'. I think it runs in my family.

i never really cared about insignificant age differences... but I do think that someone who is under 18 and someone over 21 should not really be dating because soooooooooooooo much changes in a person from 18-21 that.. they should let them grow up.

socalgal #12.1 socalgalOG 2003

that is so true, you do not realize how much you change and your viewpoints change etc.

forrestina #11 forrestinaOG 2002

The only younger guy I will mack to is Vinny.

sunshyne #11.1 sunshyneOG 2004

vinnie is fab. love him!!

malibu #11.1.1 malibuOG 2001

superhero #11.1.1.1 superheroOG 2004

forrestina #11.1.1.2 forrestinaOG 2002

I'm 25. Yeah. That's right.

No, I don't always act my age.

Yesterday a sister thought I was 18. I told her that I really was 25. She wouldn't believe me.

Anyway, my parents are about 5 years apart, and they get along GREAT. I used to firmly believe that a girl should be my age....but I didn't even adhere to that when I was younger. Weird. The things that "love" will do to you.

Anyway, now-a-days, I'm not stuck on age. I want a girl who's spiritually, and emotionally mature. I want a girl with a great personality.

Agewise, I have problems with personality and attitude, though. I notice that older girls (older than 20) carry themselves very different from younger girls. I don't really like it. It's a little too reserved for me. Older girls usually don't seem as free, and that is something that I really like. There are exceptions to this statement, of course.

socalgal #10.1 socalgalOG 2003

older girls are too reserved?

flomojopoanode #10.1.1 flomojopoanodeFounder

You don't count, you're one of the exceptions.
You're not older, anyway, right?

;)

socalgal #10.1.1.1 socalgalOG 2003

haha uh....of course i'm not older!

great thread!

This is my favorite question because no one can ever guess my true age! The guess is never older than 25. Then when i tell them my real age they don't believe it....i LUV it!! :P

So to me age aint nuthin but a #. i will date younger guys, take it they're mature spiritually and they have a pretty mature approach to life. Im pretty "young" in some senses that i like to have a blast with everything and ive found that when i meet ones that're older than i they cannot "keep up" with me, per se. Now if i do find someone older that still is a big kid like me, then i'm all over it.

What i'm trying to say, as long as your mature spiritually & emotionally and have the "big kid" factor, then i'm all over it! =)

older women rock....

socalgal #7.1 socalgalOG 2003

we do huh? LOL

specialk #6 specialkOG 2003

When I was single, I preferred guys at least 2 to 3 years older than me at the least, but I was open to the idea of adding or subtracting to those numbers. In fact, I more often than not, went for guys who were at least 4 years older than I was.
My husband is almost 6 years older than me.....I turned 24 in September, and he'll be 30 in May. This age difference suits us perfectly, but I don't think it's solely based on the fact that there are that many years between us. I think it has to do with the things we both have gone through in life, that have matured us, and enabled us to know what we wanted in a mate, and also how to handle certain situations that arose during the course of our relastionship.
But that's just my thoughts.....

tinser #5 tinserOG 2002

i dont think its that important to stick to any specific age, because individual cases vary a lot

but, as a 21 year old....i'm not about to start robbing the cradle, even if the guy seems perfect...so any younger than 18...is too young, and 18/19, thats really young....you mature a lot in those years.

As for the perfect age, to me...its always been guys two years older than me. So, are ya 23 and single ;-) haha, j/k

thatdarngirl #5.1 thatdarngirlOG 2002

This is sad..I thought we could have something special together Tinser..that maybe we could become ThatDarnTinser. You've just ruined all my dreams.

tinser #5.1.1 tinserOG 2002

well, i could always make an exception for you, but...there is still that, you being a female thing getting in the way

originalsnob #4 originalsnobOG 2004

Maturity, spiritually & emotionally are vital. The rest is a toss up really...I've observed EVERY possible combination.
One couple I know fit perfectly and the husband is 10 years older than his wife. You'd never know by watching them.

Another couple the wife is four years older but, her hubby only just turned 21 and was lacking that hmmmm non-momma's boy vibe DISASTER. She's SOoooo unhappy :-(

It's different in every case but, I certainly don't think it's okay to eliminate a possibility completely because of age.

thefunkyfresh #3 thefunkyfreshFounder

what i think is funny is when you ask a girl how old they are and they waffle about it. it's a question with an exact answer! if you're 16, tell me that you're 16! i dont go around trying to pick up girls, too young or not, but i just think it's funny when this happens

fivezero #3.1 fivezeroOG 2003

The use of the word "waffle" here is VERY inspired. Anyway, whenever someone, hehe, waffles about their age I get way turned off. I hate when they make a game out of it. "Oh, guess!" "How old do I look." "How old are YOU?" "Ahhh, Why do you want to know?" Just answer the question!!!

superhero #3.2 superheroOG 2004

my sister does that ALLLL the time. she says things like "i'll be 22 next year". what does that mean? she's really 20. it means that in 2005, at the end, she'll be 22. it's stupid. and it hurts my head.

i like the opening question i ask to be "do you know matt kelly?" because if they say yes, they're probably tired of stupid questions.

thefunkyfresh #3.2.1 thefunkyfreshFounder

i was more referring to girls who are like 16 or 17 but want guys to think they're 20

suchgr8heights #3.2.1.1 suchgr8heightsOG 2003

that's just retarded. What's the basis? Trying to be something that you're not = not mature enough to be lookin for dudes ANYway.

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

when you're younger you're always wanting to be older. When i was younger i totally looked older and used that and lied that i was 21 when i was really like 18. LOL and now i live in some alternate universe because i look a lot younger than what i am. I don't lie about my age now though.

originalsnob originalsnobOG 2004

Tisk tisk Ginita...well I just don't talk about my age unless someone asks. Since I look young I let peoples imaginations run away with them...LOL they think I'm like 5 :-P
Then I'm like ha ha sorry luv 1984 MADE IN THE 80'S and proud of it!

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

haha thats cute....made in the 80's. i LUV the 80's. i had SO much fun!

originalsnob originalsnobOG 2004

YAY 'Lana does your license also say under 21 until 2005??? Mine does, I'm such a loser .... luv me :-(

suchgr8heights suchgr8heightsOG 2003

I don't sweat the big "21" when it gets here, I'm down! before then, I'll just make regular trips to England. :p WKD is SO good. It's like blue cotton candy in liquid alcoholic form. mmm.

hunkpapap #3.3 hunkpapapOG 2003

Yeah if you are 16, that is something you've got to tell a brother...

ilikebirds #2 ilikebirdsOG 2002

older women. HOORAY.
younger ladies hate me.

originalsnob #2.1 originalsnobOG 2004

Stop trying to get us to hit on you...you know we don't hate you :-P

sunshyne #1 sunshyneOG 2004

one shouldn't be going for older guys, since there aren't many of them and should be left for one's older friend
that is ridiculous! however, i love your use of "one". classic!

age aint nothing but a number. at least thats what aaliyah thought when she was with r kelly. gross. clearly, it matters at some point. but after maturity (whatever that is-maybe ill know when i get there) i think it should stop mattering.

i personally havent been able to figure it out. i tend to pre-judge guys my age or older and file them as "boring" and "nothing in common".

my macking sweet spot is 20. i think bc these guys are not threatening marriage and have alot of energy but they arent dateable. im a late bloomer. leave me alone.
