Templates

well, lately i've been hearing a lot of bad talk about frames. i have a website that uses frames and i wanna change the look with templates cuz i heard they're good, but i dunno how. i have dreamweaver and i looked thru the tutorial, but it didn't really help. does anyone have any tips or know how to start a website with templates? or does anyone have any website links that explains how? thanks for any help.
