Golf

modestjesse by modestjesseOG 2004 · Feb 11, 2004 · 162 views

Ok, it's starting to warm up and I'm getting in the mood to play a round. I didn't get to play at all last year and I was kind of bummed about that.

So anyone in the NJ area play golf? And would you be interested in getting together for a round of golf?

Let me know. By the way I'm horrible, well not that bad, but I suck.

I don't play, but my husband does. If you're ever in this area, he'll take you out to play 18 holes. We (literally) live on a golf course (our backyard is the first fairway), so it would be no problem.

I played Saturday and I'm horrible! I shot a 116 which is pathetic but I haven't played in about two years.

But it was all worth it because of the 15th hole, 147 yards par 3. I had a perfect swing with my 8 iron and landed about 10 feet from the pin. I was the only one to land on the green. But I didn't make the birdie but I got the par, which was really nice.

I need to work on my chipping and putting, but it was a lot of fun.

I played golf in high school gym. I've wanted to learn for a while now. If you don't mind playing with an inexperienced golfer in need of some instruction, I'll join in. And I promise I won't act like Jessica Simpson in the Newlywed epi when she played golf.

That's cool, we should plan a warm up game at the pitch & put at Fairway.

I can't believe it there was actually someone else who had golf in gym in school. Yay now I can say I'm not the only one.

this year i want to be HARDCORE about it.

perrin #3.1 perrinOG 2004

ilikebirds #3.1.1 ilikebirdsOG 2002

umm.... wht not?

modestjesse #3.2 modestjesseOG 2004

Sweet, get yourself a membership to Middlesex County courses, I'll go get mine done too.

Have you played that course behind the High School yet? I know it's an executive course but it should be decent. But I do want to break out my Big Bertha.

Let's plan a trip to play. If we can get two more we can get a nice 4-some.

i would rather die than play golf but i know andrew has been looking for someone to play with.

modestjesse #3.2.1.1 modestjesseOG 2004

You should learn to play. It's a great sport that you can really share with the one you love. :)

beachbum beachbumOG 2002

ahhhh andrew has been trying for years. if he can't even get me to play, no one can. hehe. although i have to admit i liked hitting at the range. it was just a little hard to get used to not holding the club like a hockey stick. but i'll stick to minigolf.

modestjesse modestjesseOG 2004

Just think, you're both in your 60's its one of the few sports you can continue to do TOGETHER! :) And by that time you could probably even be better then him. ;)

beachbum beachbumOG 2002

hahaha what?! i still plan on playing hockey and snowboarding when i'm sixty. i'm just REALLY hoping we are not still in this system by the time we reach that age.

modestjesse modestjesseOG 2004

Come on, do you know just how much fun and frustrating it can be to play golf. It's such a rush when you kill that ball and it lands in the middle of the fairway. Good times!

beachbum beachbumOG 2002

that's why i like the range. you can just stand there and smash balls all day and see how far you can go. that is the fun part anyway. why bother with anything else?

modestjesse modestjesseOG 2004 beachbum

Cause the rest is the skill and frustration part that add to the fun of the game. I'll never forget this one shot I had with my pitching wedge. It was such a clean shot and it went way over the green but it was beautiful. I didn't realize I could hit it as far as i did with that club. It was just a perfect swing. It's things like that which make me appreciate it.

Besides, you get to see some really nice courses. I've played in Bermuda over looking the ocean and one of the top rated courses in Texas, was really nice. :)

beachbum beachbumOG 2002 modestjesse

hahaha man if i was in bermuda forget golf i would be checking out the beaches and pina colada stands. the game is just too slow and boring. i couldn't take it. i can bearly get thru an hour of minigolf and the only reason i do is because we cheat like nobody's business. the fun part is not getting caught and trying to catch everyone else. if i want scenery, i'll take a walk and save myself the money.

ilikebirds ilikebirdsOG 2002 beachbum

everytime you get a hole in one.. i'll remove an article of clothing!

so worth playing for !

beachbum beachbumOG 2002 ilikebirds

SOLD! I'm playing!

modestjesse modestjesseOG 2004 ilikebirds

Oh man! I just figured out the name! You like birds because when you take your shirt off you've got a bird chest!

beachbum beachbumOG 2002

and i don't object to minigolf which we can still play together. by then we will be on like our 40th Annual MiniGolf Tournament of Champions tour.

perrin #2 perrinOG 2004

Oh don't start with the golf. UG!
