Lakers

What were they thinking? I don't understand how they could make the decisions they're making knowing they don't have Kobe for sure. They traded off Shaq cause they really hurt him and he's just fed up with them. I hope Kobe signs with someone else now. Now Rudy is coming in as coach and he's not going to have the same team that was there before and is going to spend the 5 years on his contract rebuilding this team. Such a shame, they shot themselves in the foot. They're too busy counting on Kobe coming back.

The Lakers are garbage, they wouldve gotten knocked out of the western conference finals if the timberwolve's point guards were healthy, watch out this year tho, KG, Spree, Cassell and my boy, Wally Szerbiak are going to the finals!

socalgal #4.1 socalgalOG 2003

perrin #3.1.1.1 perrinOG 2004

It means their season is going to end early and they are going to be playing golf instead of basketball. It means they are going to be bad. lol

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

uh we'll see!

perrin perrinOG 2004

I'm suprised you've never heard that before, they use it in every sport even hockey. lol

modestjesse modestjesseOG 2004

She's a valley girl, go easy on her. ;)

perrin perrinOG 2004

I'm actually just wondering if maybe that don't use it as much over there.

socalgal #2 socalgalOG 2003

SO the lakers keep kobe....good move? bad move? looks like the team will be decent for next season, he's a good player BUT no one, i mean NO ONE is worth $130M....esp when they can't be professional and keep their quarrels under control.

modestjesse #2.1 modestjesseOG 2004

I am.

socalgal #2.1.1 socalgalOG 2003

hmmmm, maybe $129M but not $130M

socalgal #1 socalgalOG 2003

don;t EVEN get me started on this one! the laker freaks are SO messing everything up! once shaq leaves, the mailman is gone and not far behind will be payton.

In a way, shaq was being too much of a diva to want out, selling his house, etc. Kobe thinks he's the schizz....so in a way i do hope they are on new teams and don't make it far into the playoffs to bring them back down to earth and realize they need their teams, its not all about them!

modestjesse #1.1 modestjesseOG 2004

I knew you'd get ruffled by this.

I don't know about Shaq being too much of a diva. I'm not a huge fan of his but the Lakers screwed him. They bascially told him, look, this is Kobe's team, Kobe wants to play for Jackson, you don't like Jackson, you're gone. Jackson says bye. Shaq says 'screw you guys, I'm going home', and hopefully Kobe will leave just because the Lakers deserve it.

Then because they know how good Shaq is they want to send him to the east where they won't have to play him too much. This is the begining of the end for the Lakers.

socalgal #1.1.1 socalgalOG 2003

Not really....Shaq LOVED jackson, he's the reason they brought in jackson. Jackson hated Kobe, even made a comment about Kobe last game they lost.

The Org is trying to protect Kobe, so they let Jackson go, then Shaq demands the trade....which is NOT good. he never negotiated a single thing for them to keep him.

its all about attitudes. you can't have 2 ego's on the same team, that's what it all comes down to.

the lakers are trying to keep Kobe since they have more years in him per se. Shaq's what 30ish...players usally hit retirement age around there, he's the WORST free-thrower of all time. THey have more of an investment in Kobe and you're right there was NO way they were going to trade shaq to a west coast team.

BUT there is one thing that may keep shaq here, one of the players on FL needs to pass his physical, i guess there were some health issues with him and they need him to be healthy and get a huge OK from the dr's. we'll see, but my world is crumbling slowly.

modestjesse #1.1.1.1 modestjesseOG 2004

You're right, I had the Jackson thing reversed.

hunkpapap #1.1.1.2 hunkpapapOG 2003

nah you've got the shaq angle all wrong. As much as i can't stand the guy, he got the shaft the whole time he was there. He never complained publicly about kobe, who said a lot about shaq and how he thought he was faking the toe thing and how he was a distraction. But Shaq has never said anything bad about kobe, even with the whole mess he has in CO...

socalgal socalgalOG 2003

yes he did
