losing 4 teeth (revised)
My poor teeth, they have not yet even grown up and gotten to socialize with the other teeth in my mouth and already must be adopted by the dentist. 4 of those nice wisdom teeth must be pulled next thursday :/ Im trying to have him do all 4 instead of 2 cause i doubt i will go back again. So those that have had it done how long till you fully recovered eating normal food and all that fun stuff.
Revision: I can only do 2 at a time since my teeth are more screwed up then the average person

aww the poor little koala...i'm sorry joey...at least you'll get to eat alot of ice cream and pudding. :)
i hope you don't have the same type of experience i did. well, actually it wasn't too bad, considering i don't really remember it. they got it on video though
oh man, this video is so funny! there's sandwiches, and babies all over the place in it
suck it up. i went to work. left work. went to dentist. i had 3 of mine removed. woke up. drove to school. went home. and lost my prescription for the pain killers. so take that. i'm just sooooooo cooooooooool. i'm coool as ice.
cause u a thug, your not even supposed to drive!
thats because i didn't get knocked out. it's the stupid gases they give you that messes you up.. he just put tons of topical novacaine on me.. then injected me with like 5 more doses.. the whole novacaine experience took at least an hour.. then i had no idea i had a face. but i'd feel him tugging and cutting.. which was so weird. because you feel the weirdness.. but not the pain. i dont want to relive it though.
yeah they knockin me out, sleepin i will go
the way of complete novacaine only works on small persons.
i have 6 wisdom teeth that need to be pulled out. my dentist said he hasn't seen somethin like that on x-ray in 25 years
u are a mutant! what do you want your super hero name to be?
haha, hmmmm... how about, twEEtEr?
The Surgery
As a rule of thumb, wisdom teeth should be extracted when the oral surgeon first concludes that the teeth are impacted and pose a risk to the patient. In certain cases, surgery may require an incision into the gums, partial bone removal, and/or sectioning of the tooth before removal. The procedure is almost always performed in the dentist's office, on an outpatient basis. The surgery is usually performed in less than an hour, depending on the depth of the impacted teeth and their angle of growth. The surgeon will recommend using a local anesthesia, a mild sedative, or a general anesthesia.
After Surgery
Following the surgery, one can expect to experience minor pain, bleeding of the gums, and swelling of the mouth. The surgeon will prescribe medication to alleviate much of this discomfort. Unfortunately, it is impossible to know how much swelling will occur because the amount of swelling does not always correspond to the severity of the impacted teeth. However, swelling typically begins the day of the surgery and peaks within two to three days, gradually subsiding in five to seven days. Applying ice packs to the jaw helps reduce any swelling you may experience. Your surgeon may prescribe antibiotics to prevent infection and to aid the healing process. Most patients are fully recovered and back to work in one to two weeks.
yup im gettin knocked out, love that stuff, just like last time, although i was out for almost a day. Maybe i shall loose a little weight to, makes for a good diet!
what are wisdom teeth, and why do they have to come out?
they are teeth that contain brain cells. only 4 teeth in each persons lifetime contain brain cells that are connected to your cerebral cortex. thus the name 'wisdom teeth'.. but unfortunately... these teeth need removal because they grow incorrect and or in tight spaces , 100% of the time. thats why humans dont use their mind to the full capacity. because wisdom tooth removal practically mandatory.. however there are those that have kept theres in.. due to genetics.. notable people such as einstein, hawkings, and froste
don't forget my man YANNI!
did einstein, hawkings, and froste really not have their wisdom teeth removed or are you making it up?
there may some truth to this tai, as i have all 4 wisdom teeth fully grown and functioning!
i think tai's theory is right, ian you are definitely on the same level as einstein and yanni
i had mine taken out a couple years ago and i thought it was BEAT. they put me out and when i woke up they led me dizzy behind to sit in the waiting room. my mom led me to the car. i went home and was out of commision for the rest of the day. i don't know what to say about the pain killers. when i took them and sat in a chair to watch TV i'd involuntarily slouch down VERY low and it felt like had no bones. i wasn't tired but i had no bones. i still don't know if thats normal. it took three days before i was eating right and five days before the pain was basically gone, good times, except while i was out i had a dream that looked like the video for 'go with flow' by queens of the stone age and when i awoke the buttons on my shirt were done up incorrectly...curiouser and curiouser..
oh yeah im gettin pain killers i dont want to be feelin my feet!
my pain killers made me sleepy for about 10 minutes after I took them, but by the end of the night, I was super hyper and ended up printing and cutting up wedding menus. so weird cause I expected the opposite
isn't that what you do every night tho?
the same happened to me with this medicine that was perscribed for "night". i expected to begin to feel sleepy, but instead i was all of a suden really hyper and stayed up later
yeah i once started taking tylenol with codeine about the same time the prozac i had been taking kicked in...whhhhhhhoooo weee...life was soo much fun for that week..i never found "Star wars" so hysterical before
some medicines have the reverse affect on children than on adults and vice versa. I guess that must be my problem ;)
I had mine out i think two summers ago... it was the worst experience ever. They doped me up and everything, so afterwards i didn't feel so bad. but then this weird thing happened. All this blood collected inside of my cheek and turned rock hard. my face looked like a cabbage patch doll times 10. I couldn't open my mouth more than like a quarter of an inch for about 2-3 weeks. it was the worst pain ever, and i finished my percaset much too quickly. All the percaset really did was make me fall asleep. I remember i went to see absolute zero play even though my face was huge, and i caught one of the other band's t-shirts. so that kinda made me feel better a little, except that the extremely loud bass from the music made my wounds throb like crazy. this is getting too long..
i remember that. you didn't wanna be in any pictures because your face looked like you had shoved cotton balls in them but they were really just your cheeks.
had i seen you catch that shirt i would have been like, 'aw the sad girl with the giant swollen head caught the t-shirt, aw and she's trying to smile and drooling all over herself. aw i wonder if she has downs syndrome' i shouldn't joke though. my head blew up when i had a wicked nasty case of poison ivy. i looked like a downs syndrome afflicted burn victim. head..like...THIS big, whooo
