Taking Advantage of the System
by Ok, so I discovered, (or rather re-discovered) something awesome. The library. I remember, I used to go to the library back in the day because it was free, and I was poor. Also, I read books really fast. Then, they built the huge barnes and noble on 17, it was closer than the library and had WAAAAAY more books. You had to pay, but that was a minor detail.
Then, the other day, I happened to be in the library when I noticed some new DVDs. "How silly", I thought. "Blockbuster has WAAAY more DVDs."
So I enquired of the librarian- "how much to rent DVDs?" She informed me..."Free for 3 days, then 1.00/day overdue". I had to admit, I was impressed. I pass the library every day on the way to and from work. They have free DVDs. AND they are online! You can renew, check out, request or pay fines for ANY library in Bergen County from their website!! Things are good. Very good. But then I wondered...maybe my taxes from work go to buy more DVDs for the library? So I asked the librarian. "Nope," she said. "Property taxes pay for the library." So my parents pay, and I don't, because I don't have a house! I love this!
On a sad note...I heard the Atari's "Boys of Summer" on Z100 this morning. I mourn the passing of an amazing song to pop radio. Starting today, I call for a ban on pop radio. A protest! Never again we will "flip to that station". Instead, we will use Second Spin to find used cds really cheaply in perfect condition! (That's one of my favorite sites...but I think they need support. as i would tend to agree... i have to back my boys the Ataris... they ROCK that cover!!! and... well they are incredible musicans as well...
i like the ataris' cover MUCH better than the original. plus they change the "deadhead sticker" to "blackflag sticker" much better. haha

i was definitely getting a happy vibe from your suggestion. yo i wanted to ask you about when we could do a video scavenger hunt, because you have done that before (and i can't find any interesting people who want to play). but you're getting married. so you're busy for a while.
we didn't do video, but scavenger hunts are fun. except for the person who runs it. and if you're not from the area, it kinda sucks. basically we had 4 teams, and each car should have the same number of locals.

man i use the libraury so much. its one of my favorite places ever!! so many books and i wander around. you can do that for all of the librauries up here too. right now i have about 20 books out and i don't wanna bring them back cuz i wanna pretend that they're mine and i can continually read them.

our library charges for dvd's and videos...thats not fair...i think i may have to start traveling to mahwah just to borrow dvds from the library...good thing i figured out how to get over the bridges, right dan?
