Up there....

So i think i've finally decided on a secular career that i would really like to persue. I had never thougth about it before, until i saw an advertisement a few months back in to newspaper for Flight school. And thinking about it up to this day, i think I really would like to be a pilot. I'm not sure whether I'm lookin toward airline pilot or commercial pilot, (prabably commercial, though), but in any case i just want to learn to Fly. That would be a really cool Job and I really do wanna learn it. So what do you think? Think maybe i should do something more "grounded"? Or do you know anybody who became a pilot? Anybdy know any steps i could take?

All I know, is it's got to be really hard to get to meetings and out in service as a pilot.

yea, as an airline pilot definitely. But it would be easier as a commercial pilot because they dont have the long flights like airline pilots have. There are a few brothers who are coimmercial pilots.

its very very very hard to get a job as a commercial pilet. i know a bro from our cong that went down to FLa to Flight School. I know it cost a ton of money and hes trying to find a job with no avail.

just ship yourself via UPS...oh, and make sure you have NO outstanding warrants

That's definetly so scary. I hate flying because think of it, sure it's all pretty with the clouds but you're suspended thousands of feet in the air inside a metal thingy eating peanuts!

ekulu #2.1 ekuluOG 2002

yea, but then again airplanes are the safest mode of travel. It's jsut that when there are accidents, theyre pretty bad. i only been in an airplane once, it was alright. But i really wouldnt want to be flying those kinda planes. I dont know tho. And those peanuts are really good

theremin #2.1.1 thereminOG 2002

Statistics decieve. It only appears as the "safest mode of travel," cuz of there being less airplanes flying than cars driving, and therefore plane accidents occuring less often than car accidents. When a plane crash occurs, there's a very very slim chance of surviving. When a car crash occurs, there's more of chance surviving from it, than from a plane crash.

my cousin is a commercial pilot. He and his wife used to be in the air force and he was a pilot there. He loves it.

My Dad went to flight school. I remember looking at his books when I was little. Math and Physics all over the place. I don't know exactly how the credits go, but he had to stop because it was so expensive to pay for the air time.

stacey marcus from new jersey is a commercial pilot for UPS. I think she likes it a lot.

i plan on getting my pilots liscense one day too!!! just cuz i want to and......my grandma reccommended it to me...but yeah i want to. its really hard to do though. very expensive (they run about $8,800 for just your private pilots liscnese, not commercial) and you have to log 40 hours of flight time before you even start the required training for getting the liscense and i think that's part of flight school.

I hear they might start putting armed guards on planes, that would be fun and prolly cheaper then becoming a pilot, you could still make meetings and service, that would be great.
