Driving School (UPDATE)
whoa man, whoooa man, whoooooa man! lol i just drove for 2 straight hours! it was fun :) i loved it. VROOM VROOM! i signed up for Mr. Pepe's and the guy that was my instructor was Kaleb. wat a nice guy. he was awesome. funny guy too, had that spanish accent goin on. he says i need more practice with turning in quiet areas, but my k-turns and turning and driving in the city was really good. man my butt and legs hurt. now i know why my parents don't like to drive too far off haha. but driving's fun! i think if it's worth driving long, i'd go for it. but man... i just found out... MY TEST IS NOT THE 14TH! IT'S FRIDAY THE 10TH! HOLY CRAP! and i only practiced 3 times! man i hope i do ok lol. if there's a will, there's a way!
UPDATE: today's friday, and i woke up around 6:30am to get ready cuz i got another Mr. Pepe instructor to my house and was gonna pick me up at 7am.
i go and i learn how to drive on the highway and parallel park. now i was ready for the test. during the wait i was kinda nervous, and around 9am my test started.
i said g'morning to the road test guy and he didn't say anything back. i thought oh boy... and so i go off and my first mistake was at an intersection. i had to turn left a green arrow, but people on the other side were turning right, so i waited and he yelled at me, so i was like crap!not good!
so i was doin ok, checkin my mirrors, doin the speed limit. then the parallel parking. i did bad my first try, but he said try again and i did it! and my k-turn was good too. so when we got back to Kilmer, he was writin stuff and i was thinkin man, did i do bad? and he was so quiet, only told me where to turn and where to sign stuff. so he's like ok all done. and i'm like, thank you...
i still had no clue if i passed or not. so i look at my driving skool instructor and he looks at my permit, and says congratulations! he pointed to the shiny sticker and i was like oh! woohoo! now i can drive legally! VROOM VROOM!!!

you'll do fine, bro. just play some grand turismo! you'll be ready. another good idea...before you take the test try to drive on the parkway or something. i did that the second time i drove and it took away all my fear and hesitance. after that i was juuust fiiine.
yo when i first starting driving-i hated it...and i guess i still do...maybe thats just cuz i crash more then i drive...
Some of us are more accident prone than others. For instance, over the past two years I have totalled two cars and got into one minor accident. However, there are those who think its all a state of mind...that they "don't do accidents."-that's a real live quote baby.
THAT would be me. and i stand by it.
It could just be that you're a bad driver? But I'm a bad driver and I haven't gotten in any real accidents yet, I do learn from my mistakes though.
Nobody has ever before told me that I was a bad driver. I'm careful, follow the rules, always use my signals...people who know me well don't understand how I have been in so many accidents. I have been told on more than one occasion that I am a walking disaster. Things break when I am near. I have the Midas touch, in reverse.
Aw, well then you're probably not a bad driver cause when you are people do tell you. It's probably just the careless mistakes of other people.
SEE?! people sometimes tell me i'm a bad driver. but they don't know that deep inside the chaos and seemingly unmeasured decisions and negations of my driving is a complete yet invisible CONTROL that i wield mightily! i drive as carefully as i can yet have as much fun as i can have while keeping myself and my passengers completely safe. a lot of it is mental. if you drive around repeating over and over in your head "accidents happen, accidents happen" then you instantly UP your chances of getting into an accident. when you let your confidence waiver terrible things tend to happen. you have to be aggressive about it. say "nope, i will not get into an accident." and you will have safe, pleasant driving experiences. it's almost the same as one of the rules of combat. that being 'always feel superior to the opponent regardless of apparent size and evidence of strength.' just go to it! don't let past experiences and societies saturation of statistics scare you. refuse to be a statistic. be confident on the road and you'll be A-Ok.
yeah good stuff brian. it helps me to think positive and whenever i drive, i'm not nervous at all.
Don't encourage him!
dude, whenever you start to feel down behind the wheel, just picture me smiling! and then picture me mooning all the wussy disastrous drivers out there who make driving expensive and dangerous for us confident accident-free folk!
oh that would definitely help me concentrate.
I should make my wife read this comment.
Driving is great..my first lesson was in the pouring rain. I was such a nervous wreck that when I finally got out of the car my whole body hurt because I had been so tense for the two hours. But driving isn't too bad. I like to drive alone and have my music on that way no one can be watching my bad driving and I can sing really loud.
congratulations pete!!!
