Whoah..is this a trick question? I just voted but then I realized I don't understand. Is the question "is it legal for you to drive and talk on the cell phone" or is the question "is it illegal to drive and talk on the cell"?
whats the diff?????
argggggggggg....if u were talking on a cell phone, and a cop pulls ya over, WILL he give u a ticket for talking on a cell phone while driving a CAR ????
There's a big difference! The question you asked in the journal is NOT a yes or no question.
double negatives confuse me too!
yikes....sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No need to be sorry..I was just very confused.
the question is easily understood. straightforward and clear.
well i dont get it.
ok, now i don't either!
How did you understand it one minute and then not all of the sudden when starship didn't? The question itself is understandable BUT it does not go along with the poll. A question that starts with "Is it or is it not.." cannot be answered with yes or no. Because your yes could either mean "it is" or "yes it is not"
semantics is a losers game!
GO Lindsay!!! Don't mess with her folks, she knows her grammar. She used to watch schoolhouse rock like me.
Oh yeah..the people at the Conjunction Conjunction Diner have helped me out a lot!
my grammar died in the 80s. ;|
Mine did too..and I was born in 85!
oops sorry 5-0 ya gotta understand that alzhimers can confuse me very easily.
lol i'm always confused
my input is this: SOME parts of joisey (i.e. Paramus) have outlawed it, but not all. So as a general rule it's ok...
no, the entire state of new jersey has not outlawed it. HOWEVER, certain cities or towns have... the only two that i know of, altho i'm sure there are more, are Paramus (as pat stated) and Ridgewood. They both have a no cell fone rule which means u can get a $200 ticket if a cop catches u....
NO! Stick it to the man!!!
and u mean by that?????
im pretty sure they made it a law throughout new jersey now. a state trooper pulled adam over on i-80.....while talkin on the celly.
pulled him OVER for talking or he got pulled over WHILE talking...
hahaha...smarty
btw, your question for your survey is not a yes or no answer. haha i got all confused...(yea...i know it doesnt take much.)...so i said no, when i think i meant yes... what i really mean to say is that i think it IS illegal in NJ. ahhh...
it's not illegal in all of NJ. just a few parts. however, i think state troopers are a little too...eager.
having said that..come on...buy a headset, how hard is it...find one you think looks cool (get a wireless one, if you're really petrified about looking like an operator) and then move on with your life.
i'm on the...it's safer to drive without a headset side of the arguement...i've had bad experiances with headsets...now i've got a speakerphone though, so i just use that...the v300 rocks!
yeah see, i don't think holding a phone while it's on speakerphone would keep you from getting a ticket...i'm not sure. ian?
but, it would be a lot less easy to detect, because i hold it below the window...anyway, that law is pretty hard to enforce as is.
FYI, a new bill banning cell phone use without hands free kits everywhere in NJ is supposedly getting signed today.
when i see a cop and i'm on my cell, i just throw it on the ground in a moment of panick until the cop passes, this is usually bad cuz then i have to duck down and get it off the floor... which tkaes my eyes off the road for quite some time... hahaha.. it would be better to just drop it in my lap i supose or maybe to use the handsfree that hangs from my rearview mirror... haha
hahaha, or maybe you could just lower your hand below the window.
well, you see ian, i am a blonde... and these simple solutions do not come so easy...
haha... yeah when i see a cop i just FREAK OUTTTTT AND RAM THE CAR INTO A GROUP OF NUNS CROSSING THE STREEEEEEEETTTTTTTT!!! I'M CREEEEZZZEEEEEEEEEYYYYYYY AIIIIIIIIYAAIIIIII!!!!
excuse me mathew but... ARE YOU MOCKING ME?
hahaha... no, its a true story
in the words of my dear brother nick...
HI LIAR!
i either use my handsfree or hide my phone in my hair
hahaha. the handsfree was such a genius invention. very smart thing to use.
