by So, I went to Pensylvania's Learn To Ski Day today. Awesome deal for someone who has never snowboarded or skied- $10 for a group lesson, rentals, and all-day ski lift ticket for the bunny hill! I have come to the decision, unfortunately, that snowboarding is not for me. While I did have fun (despite falling a lot) I just really don't see the appeal to flying down a snowy mountain in the freezing cold on a piece of plastic (or whatever those boards are made of). So..surfing I enjoy, snowboarding is not cool. I also do not appreciate ski lifts. My friend and I made it off the first time without a problem. The second time she fell. The third time..well we fell ontop of each other in a big messy heap (it was her fault..she pulled me down with her). I felt kind of bad for the people behind us. So! The next time we went up I told the guy we were gonna go alone, and he took it a step up! He put her on one lift-chair behind me so I could get out of her way if she fell. So of course..what happens? I fell on my own and managed to land on both my head and my butt (how?). I didn't make it up in time so when she got off and made it standing she was heading straight my way and fell over (not enough time to turn) so she wouldn't hit me. I think we amused the lift guy enough for one day.

yeah i think just about everyone hates their first day or two. you need to watch insane snowboarding videos before you go to get psyched up
or its really fun to go with janine, cause ANYBODY is better than her, so to make yourself feel better, you challenge her to a race and blow her away, believe me, i beat her pretty much everytime i race her barring when i fell into the woods or ran matt into that snowmobile...

Wow..they were making us do both toe and heel edges yesterday. And I always needed to do heel edges more and I just couldn't do it.
i found toe edge to be easier at first for some reason
