Persistance
I've had a return visit on a Hindu woman for a few years. She's nice and we had very good conversations. I started a study with her in the Require Bro. and so of course she got a full time job. Then she quit but I still only saw her sporadically. Sometimes we did the brochure, sometimes I just left magazines and a scripture or would answer some of her questions. It was a 'catch me when you can' situation. I was getting frustrated because I know there is something there w/ her but I just caught her so infrequently. Finally a couple of weeks ago we did a lesson in the brochure and I decided to just go for it and give her a Knowledge Book and ask her if she wanted a formal study since she had so many questions. She agreed. She also told me that her friends kept saying "oh why do you talk to them? They will try to convert you. You have your own religion" and she told them "If i'm so strong in my religion then they won't be able to change me. But maybe they have something better to say so then why shouldn't I listen?" wow, i was pretty impressed. so we set up a firm time and day for last week. I went last monday w/ high hopes and she wasn't there. I felt like 'here we go again.' I went again this past monday not just to give it one more try but not expecting anything. To my surprise she was there waiting. She said she had forgotten last week b/c she wasn't used to me coming at that time but she remembered this week. We had an awesome 2hr study and did the whole first chapter. I know she still has a long way to go and she is going to face a lot of challenges b/c of the cultural and religious differences, but I have a lot of hope for her. You know, you try so hard to reach some people that you KNOW want the truth, and they seem just beyond your reach. Then when you finally get a hold on them, it's like I almost want to cry in relief. Makes me remember why I spend so much time out there.

Good job, J! You rock!
how is Don's study going?
That is so awesome!! My mom got a really good call recently...a woman she had met and had been trying to catch for years, but she was never home. My mom witnessed to this woman's mother for a while, but nothing ever happened with that. So, she finally catches this woman, and she's still interested! My mom offers her a knowledge book in english AND spanish. But next time she went back, she couldn't catch her. Today, though, she caught her, and it turns out that her previously opposed husband is telling her that Jehovah's Witnesses are the best religion because they follow the Bible so closely!!!! When my mom asked if she got to look at the knowledge book, she said "not much, but my husband has been reading his a lot, and he reads that great teacher book to our son every night before he goes to bed". HOW AWESOME IS THAT?! But it gets better, my mom asked her if she'd like to study the Bible and learn more, and she said the only time she had was on the weekends...which are devoted to the family. But since studying the Bible would include the whole family, she's going to ask her husband and try to arrange it!
wow that is great. just when you start to think there is nobody left out there.
