All because of one phone call
by So, today has been one of the best days for me in quite a long time. All because of one single phone call.
My closest and oldest friend, Sara, called me earlier this evening. Now, Sara is not a Witness, but I've known her since before I came into the truth, and she's just one of those people who has always understood me, and we've always been close.
She had been living in Chicago since the beginning of this year, and was waiting for her company to transfer her. Well, she told me that her company had phased out a lot of their products, most of which she was in charge over, So, they offered her a severence package. She took it, and bolted to Florida to live with her mom. Her dad is living there too, so it seems to be a good move for her.
But here's the best part......
Sara told me that on Thursday the doorbell rang, and her mom answered it. It was some Witnesses who had been visiting her mom for about 3 or 4 months. Not only that, but her mom had been STUDYING with them too!!!! So, the sister asked Sara if she'd like to sit in on the study. Sara did, and she told me she LOVED what she learned!! She said she learned so much, and she couldn't wait for the sister to come back next week.
Now, I've talked to her in the past about the truth, and she's always asked questions, in an interested way, but never really seemed like she wanted to do anything about it. This is something I have been praying about for years, and it just makes me so happy to hear that her interest was finally sparked, no matter how it was done. I told her that she or her mom could call me anytime if they had any questions about anything.
This has truly been one of the best days in a while.

maybe it was my grandmother. she lives in florida, and she has like 47 bible studies, and i've met them all, none of them speak a word of english. and also all of them are named "antigone". i know it sounds weird but it's true.

he's mean to me! does anyone ever notice!?!?! this kid has never been nice ONE minute in his life. i was at this party, and he was like "look at the kid who can't have pizza! hhahah!" and everyone laughed. and i felt stupid. because i was gonna talk to this cute girl but then i couldn't, after that. and then he goes "i'm gonna make a movie about a party, and everyone's happy, eating pizza, and then you see Dan in the corner, crying, eating his meatball sub, because he can't be like everyone else! HAHAH!"
and he does this every time he sees me. and i feel small and sad inside.
Dude, don't be such a wuss. Theres a ton of things you can make him feel stupid about.
Also, you could just end the smear campaign and reason with him. If he doesn't listen to reason then of course you have the right to give him a curb smiley.

Me too.....she and I have known each other since 8th grade, and we're almost like sisters.....She lived across the street from em for years, and even went to my brother's prom with him (before he was a Witness). Had she been a Witness when I got married, she SO would have been my Maid of Honor. It has been hard since I came into the truth, though, trying to draw a definite line, so as not to endanger my spirituality, because I always had to keep reminding myself that, no matter how close we are, she is still not in the truth. Hopefully that will change. My husband and I were wondering how long it would be before she accepts a study of her own, instead of just sitting in on her mom's. Hopefully the sister down there offers her a study of her own soon.

this gives me hope....one of my girlfriends from texas and i have been friends since 9th grade. i witness to her all the time and send her literature and she's always asking me so many questions. i just pray that she's home when someone comes to her door!

wow! that is so great. you never know with people-changing circumstances is all it takes sometimes. Jehovah has some very unexpected ways of working things out!
