Burn out
So I am moving back to Jersey the 30th of June. Woo Hoo - I can't say that Pennsylvania hasn't been awesome, cause it has or is - well you know what I mean.
But I am really glad to be leaving on a high note, I think any longer and I may start to hate what I love.
I was talking to a friend of mine last night and she was saying how in relationships she has a tendency to be so excited at the outset that she ends up burning out all that is good in the relationship within the first few months. Running full force in to it, expecting everything and then in turn getting let down. I was trying to explain to her that sometimes sitting back and relaxing, letting things progress is a better way of handling it... I'm not sure if she is gonna apply this, but eh, I thought it was the best thing to explain to her. I really don't know much myself but I thought it sounded good.
Have you ever loved something so much or been so jazzed that you end up burning it out?

All the time. Constantly. I get really really really into something and then after a couple months it's not as important. I hate when that happens, it happened with sooo many things that I do not care about or ever do anymore, like my temporary obsession with art a few years ago when I went out and got paint sets and pencils and everything but then realized that i have no artistic ability whatsoever...heh... Or when I went to the library every day and read like two books a day for a couple months until my head exploded, hahaha..... And then there's my two favorite things, photography and writing, that kinda alternate and melt into each other and sometimes separate and sometimes both completely fizz out. I always end up coming back to one or the other, though.
And it doesn't really happen with people, not usually, relationships/friendships don't usually fizz out unless the other person gives up, I don't like to give up on people heh
yea i do the same thing with photography and art - they go melt together and then I seperate them, then I'm totally in to one over the other.
ha, i think i remember you tellin me about the painting thing like YEARS ago,, and i rememebr the book thing, ha
i usually dont fizz out on things unless i expanded all options to pursue it. that i can remember anyway. memory is SHOT like a canon ball. BOOM, ,DONE
friendships, i never fizz out on unless one or the other moves, cause it just gets hard to keep intouch after time! good ones are SO very hard to come by and i just dont pick up and make friends with everyone, so when i do have good friends we dont fizz
although i still keep intouch with my man steve! and i live 40 minutes further from when i first met him, and we were a hike apart already!
i used to love my chiminea. i would burn everything. paper, TP, newspaper, my sister...but then...it got old. also, i have a burned and withered hand. so i said "good bye chiminea!" and fed ex'd it to Sham Shizam and the Phams, in Piscataway, NJ. Because I saw them perform live once and they were amazing.
lol i think i know that family, saw there act once too. lol.
Yeah, there was a time where Hilldan would call me every DAY like 4 times a day... he said he loved me, used me for my money and now he wont return my calls! Atleast his mom does...
Score!
yeah i can see the headlines now "fencing not the metal kind" all over on the billboards haha
dude, you have money???
i think the thing about this is that people like to try new things, and they get hardcore into them, and then it's not what they thought it was gonna be, so it bores them. And other things you just need a break from to regroup your thoughts and then you can go back to it. Hmm it might even work with relationships who knows. I think that's why I give up certain things completely, but keep coming back to others.
I once dated a girl who baked me cookies everyday , so i bought a cow and milked it everyday. got me a cool white uniform and delivered free milk and cookies to my neighbors.
because i hated her cookies.

Yeah I do that all the time with things. I obsess about things and just want to do it all the time and with somethings I just end up hating it or being annoyed by it instead. This is of course compliments of my OCD nature. lol
