by All parents and adults tell people to bo things cuz it builds character. i just figured out what building character really means. It is a phrase that actually means i dont feel like doing this you do it. Parents always do it they tell you to shovel snow or mow the lawn and you complain they tell you to do it cuz it builds character remember that what they are really saying it: I DONT FEEL LIKE DOING IT YOU DO IT!!!!

well I dont know about that. I guess it could mean those things. But I do know that the more responsible you are the more it does build character. So in a way your parents are right. As for there intentions you know them better than me.

My mom doesn't just tell me to do something, she actually shows me the right way to do it. By the end i've learned something valuable that I can use later in my grown life, like cooking, cleaning, washing dishes, laundry really is an art-form by the way....lol, i'm still not great at it ;) sometimes you can tell she just doesn't want to do something & thats when it annoys me but i'm basicly glad i know how to do all those things.
