Remembering my friend

aviator by aviator · Jun 24, 2004 · 189 views · Journal

So one of my closest friends died this past week. He was in a gruesome car accident. Basically this lady was tailgating someone at a high speed well over the speed limit so she decided to pass and went into my friends oncoming lane (with her SUV containing 2 infants and another minor under 5 years old) and plowed directly head on with him in his little Hyundai. David was a good friend of mine. He always had a charming way of talking to you. I was at his wedding last year and remember feeling very happy for him. I saw him pioneer and saw him make people smile. I went on a return visit he had with an older man and he spoke so nice and caring to him. These are my happy memories of David. The thing that really bites my tongue is that David was disfellowshipped not too long ago. I have a gut feeling that he was making his way back though. Anyways all I can do is pray and hope that Jehovah has a place for him in his memory. David is missed.

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. I know you must really be hurting right now. Go with your gut about him making his way back to the truth....your insticnts could be right. It's good that you're thinking of the happy times. Those are what keep memories alive.

My thoughts and prayers are with you. :)

sorry to hear this. You know Jehovah will remember him, even if he is disfellowshipped.

thanks bro, that means a lot. I have the card from his funeral that I am keeping in my ID badge to kind of keep close with me while i am at work as a reminder to be careful unlike that woman who hit him.

Also I want to thank the person who gave me a phone call earlier today to comfort me. It was greatly appreciated.

oh man, that is horrible, I'm so sorry.

When terrible things like this happen, they always remind me to keep working hard to fight worldly tendencies, and sinful old personality traits. That way I can be sure that no matter what happens in this crazy world, if I'm close to Jehovah, I'll be in the paradise to welcome back my dead loved ones.

yeah as if this couldn't be any worse some other lousy stuff happened. I found out that someone else I know was DF'ed. But this guy Dave who was killed, his older brother was killed the same way in a car accident while pioneering at the age of 17. Its like how much can his parents take. I feel awful for them.
