How often do you do these things?
I was just thinking about this this morning when i ran out of my house with no make up, jeans , tank, flip flops and hair a bit frizzy.
I grew up in a house where looks didnt really matter, i mean keep your self presentable ya know, but dont make it priority. so doing this is very often for me, I dont think twice about it. I don't even care who I see.
like my mom would drop my sister off in her pink bathrobe with her long leather coat over it,no make up no nothing, and it was just the most histerical thing, and she didnt care at all. it was great!
I personally like the more natural beuty in a girl. Less is more, don't need the glitz and glam, same for guys too. Like i couldnt imagine having to put makeup on before anyone saw me, even my husband and friends, please, just give me a shower so I atleast dont smell like sleep. It just seems like a lot of work, I duno, but I do like getting dressed up and decked out occasionaly when the ocasion is right.
Anyway I was wondering how many other people do these things like this and dont even think twice about it.

side note, my best friend my sister, now that we are both married and live ridiculously far apart so we hardley see each other, everytime we get together its the same thing, nothing but good timees and we think sooo much a like still. It's great

i can braid my belly hair
ugh, i detest makeup. i didn't even wear it for my own wedding-just lipstick. and usually i end up combing my hair in the car at red lights on the way to whereever i'm going. like you said, presentable is good, but no need to spend hours on it. wash and go!
ha ha, sometimes, i dont even brush my hair, if it gets in the way ill through it up in a hair stick, i cant drive and do hair or anything cuase i need a wheel alignment sooo bad

haha yeah i have a stick to and it's impossible for me to do my hair and drive. i have to be a passenger or at a red light. but thank goodness i have 100 hair ties around my shift for the days i don't feel like combing or don't have time.

haha this kinda cracked me up hahaha... I'm not much of a makeup wearer. I like eye makeup and that's about it. Bronzer type stuff sometimes is good cos i'm pale-skinned and it's not fun, and the sun gives you cancer. But like, foundation, BLEH, lipstick, i detest it. The smell of lipstick makes me sick. haha... i'm not really a girl i don't think.... i don't like getting "dressed up" and i cannot wear heels for my life. At my wedding I was really annoyed that i had to wear a big poofy dress and be all fussed over. Bleh. annoying.
i'm more into like skin-care and stuff and looking healthy and natural, and plus i'm not really a huge fan of wrinkles, so it would be cool if i get less wrinkles because i don't really tan and i don't wear tons of makeup and i don't have kids. Haha
my mom and I got into a pretty rediculo fight before my wedding because she was SO APPALLED that I didn't want to wear lipstick at my wedding. haha it was pretty funny. I think I wound up wearing some just to make her stop.
haha i know, every one was shocked that i wouldn't wear any. they are like "but it's your WEDDING". so does that mean i have to look like a made up clown or different than i normally do? i didn't want to walk down the aisle and have andrew be like 'who the heck is THAT?' haha.

i agree about the foundation-though i think i only tried powder once or twice. i felt so dirty.
i will only wear the lipstick that smells like hazelnut and has moisterizer for the winter. yummy.
thats the most important to me is skin care. i'm totally into moisturizers etc cause it all starts with your skin.
and i'm all over the sunscreen. i have to cause i'm always out in the sun and water.
the past year maybe 2 years, i have been all about the sun block, its super easy for me to get tan so i dont even worry about not getting tan, wheni was younger, i was all about the baby oil, ha ha,, for like a summer, never got burned though
thats good to hear. i hate it that most girls who spend tons of time in the sun don't use sunblock. scares me. then they wonder why at 21 they look like they're 41.

I KNOWWWWWW,,, ha haha, it makes me sick, when i see girls my age or younger than me are on there way to having fabulously leather like skin,, you can't get that skin back, whhyyy do that to yourself!

see, my mom would never go out of the house like this. to me it is not a big deal but someone came over our house unexpectantly and she was in her pj's and ran for cover. "only your family should see you in your pj's."

i once saw a friend of mine pick up a shirt and spray it with stuff which to me looked like fabreeze, and i was LIKE WHAT ARE YOU DOING,, you can't be seriuos,, but it turned out to be downy's wrinkle release spray, they look so much alike

yeah dude. Just spray on, hang up for like 10 minutes, and it's wrinkle-free. I used to use it on EVERYTHING cos my clothes were always all over the place and not neatly folded/hung.
(disclaimer - my clothes are still sometimes all over the place so then i just re-wash or throw in the dryer with a "refresher" cloth to get the wrinkles out. I refuse to iron)

well you have to find a place for the ironing to take place, fold out the ironing board, wait for the iron to warm up, try to iron something without accidentaly making iron-creases and it's just SO annoying.
i hate ironing, it's my most hated household chore.

I am girly, i must admit. even though i'm the biggest tomboy and will get down and dirty, doesnt' mean i have to look like one of the boys. now full makeup, i don't wear, only when we're going out at night....even then its minimal. during the day it'a all about lipstick and mascara, nothing else.
i detest cover-up and powders....makes you feel like you're wearing a mask or something, like its totally suffocating
Make-up is dumb. My house (with four girls) has never been a girly-girl house. My mom has curly hair so growing up she never learned how to do a lot of stuff with her hair (like different ways to put it up, blow drying it straight etc.) because she didn't feel the need to do anything with it. Also, she was never a big fan of make up. The result? None of her three daughters had any clue what to do.
I am make-up retarded. I'll try and wear it if I'm going out somewhere nice or fun but daily? Absolutely not. I wear moisturizer cause it feels nice and lots of chapstick. Oh, and eyebrow gel..that stuff is amazing! I own a few different lip glosses (lip stick is gross, it gets all dry and nasty) which I rarely wear and mascara which gets used once a month maybe. Oh, and I have a nice foundation/cover up that I only use if like..my face looks really uneven and blotchy sometimes which doesnt happen very often so..it just sits on my shelf and makes me look like I'm a girl when I'm not.
That last poll makes me kind of sad. I love my t-shirts and jeans, I'm only comfortable dressing like that. But then I go into stores where they have all nice dressy-up clothes that are beautiful and I want them but I'd never wear them. How do you hang around on the couch wearing a shirt that costs $75?
total opposite here lindz, My mom won't go out to walk the dog without makeup & sometimes i get a bit paranoid about it too but now that i'm older i don't worry as much as i used to. The whole putting clothes on that have been lieing on the floor 4 a week is probly the biggest thing i do & i don't feel weird or bad about it at all* oh well!!! ;)
Funny, my mom has always liked looking nice but over the last 10 years maybe she's definetly become like..a girl. She has to wear mascara (I think it annoys her that my lashes are naturally super long and think to the point where mascara makes my eyelashes look fake) and like..obsesses about what she's wearing and her hair. Its funny to me. Like, going to the meeting. Just throw on some dress clothes and as long as your neat and presentable who cares? She has to look perfect which is silly to me..these are people she's known forever!
my eyelashes are long too and look fake when i use mascara, but i can't be with out it.
hygene: gotta brush my teeth 3 times a day at least. mouthwash & floss twice a day. kinda obsessivo about that. shower. can't wash my hair more than 2-3 times a week bc it is so dry/curly. so on the off days i use hair freshner spray/frizz stuff/leave-in conditioner. gotta shower everyday. if i showered once already in a day and then feel smelly later...i do the italian shower deal. lavendar baby oil, baby powder, lotion, perfume are all my friends when it comes to smelling so fresh and so clean. i'm DEF more high maintenance about cleanness than makeup.
makeup: i put chapstick on when im bored/remember to. that's my most frequent "makeup" application. i try to remember to wash my face and moisturize bc that is good but i end up doing it for like one week out of a month or two. the next step up makeupwise for me is royal blue mascara bc this makes my chinky eyes open up a bit. next step up from that is a little foundation under my eyes bc i have powder and don't own concealer (even if i did i would use it wrong). and if i'm feeling like looking pretty i'll do eyeshadow and lip gloss or lipstick. i cannot do eyeliner for my life so i dont even touch that. i use bronzer when i have a wedding bc i never get outside to tan. i am horrible at makeup and don't desire to take time out of sleeping to get up early and do it.
I love showers and enjoy them daily. I feel really gross and upset if I don't get to take a shower.

i hate the pencil ones bc they hurt/itch. and i can never get the brush/spongey liquidy ones thin enough. i can't do smoky eyes bc my eyes are so purple/black around. this frustrates me bc i like the smokey look!
you need to get a better pencil made from a nicer company. i had problem putting it on but then my mom let me use her NICE makeup and it slide right on. all depends on the company.

yea, eyeliner took me years to master! Useing white on ur top lids helps tho cause you can easily fix it without it looking stupid.
you know what this made me think,, i really am picky about my water pressure when takeing a shower, it has to be the right kind of hardness.
and i to enjoy showers alot,, buutttt when i am camping i love not taking showers, and just kinda jumpin in the river. and its always ICEY cold river water, so refreshing

the funest cheapest place i have been is indian head upstate new york, it is awesome
they have rafting and the water is ice cold, but so much fun, its easy stroling rafting, atleast when we where there.
we had sooo much fun there, it was bloody hot during the day and freezing at night,, so we all snuggled in one tent, it was so much fun,, and the only thing we had was a porta potty.
we totally plan on going up there again this fall, maybe we could hook up?

i only wear make up (and contacts) if i'm seeing someone special or if i think there is a possibilty of my appearance being recorded ... by the same token, if either of those things are happening, im spending some extra time getting ready ... i rarely wear anything that could be characterized as bummy clothes though

my mom always took us for these portraits. when i was younger i had no mole above my lip. since we went every year my family can trace back the history of the mole to exactly when it started. sick game to play.

BOY, I don't know what you ladies are complaining about!! Half hour ago, i'm tweezing my eyebrows right? So i scrunch up my brows and i end up grabbing like ten eyelashes along with one of them eyebrow fuzzies. YEEOWCH!! Man, i practically ripped off my upper eyelid..

are you kidding me? you're grippin about tweezing your brows?? wuss!! no i just do it so often that it no longer hurts that bad as long as i just dab water on them first.
so here's my thought as to why i am the way i am..... my mom is concerned with her appearance. she always looks gorgeous. like a redheaded elizabeth taylor. or an older lynz lohan. my older sister. same thing. wears waterproof mascara so that she will never be seen w/o makeup. my lil sister is amazing with makeup. the other day she looked amazing and she tells me she used 14 colors to blend around her eyes. there is just always so much pretty lookin people around me....that i dont' feel like i need to try. they need the bathroom time and while it's fun to try and look pretty....requires way too much time and money. i just try the basics to look presentable. neat hair. clean teeth. and sun-kissed skin. because...hey....there's gotta be one bad apple in the bunch.right?
I think there is a huge difference between not being concerned with your appearance as far as makeup and fancy clothes are concerned, and not being concerned with your appearance and being just dirty. Dirty hair, dirty clothes, dirty face. Gross. I hate makeup and getting dressed up... but when there is a stain on a shirt that won't wash out with some stain-remover, I throw out the shirt haha.
