Why I am hating on New Jersey
So I am totally gonna hate on Jersey for the duration of this journal.
Now all in all when I was living in Pennsylvania, I missed Jersey, I really did. There are these elements of diversity here that you can't find anywhere else. The fact that within a half hour, you could be sitting with your feet in the sand or walking around the city or in the country - these are very cool things. New Jersey is a lot of the reason why I am who I am, as insane as it is at times.
ALRIGHT - but I will say that the insanity involved with people on the roads, number one is out of control. The insurance rates - these are just not necessary. The cost to rent an "apartment" which is more of a hallway - ridiculous. I don't see the point in the construction of fifty million and one strip malls or townhouse complexes... these raise the volume of people and lessen the amount of trees.
And when was it decided that rte 1 and 9 would permanently be under construction? Or that rte 287 would have rubbernecking every moment, of any day it had a chance?
My family seems to think that dramatic prose is the way we are to function on a regular basis. I am not supporting that at all. Not EVERYTHING is a tradgedy and there are moments in life which are just cool to sit back and enjoy.
Case in point - laying on the ground, belly up and staring at the stars ;) ... this is NOT a waste of time - it's awesome.
Beyond that - I think that is a bried synopsis of it all. I realize that I am Jersey through and through buuuuuuuut at the same time... haters.

yeah i agree with the expensive insurance, BUT.... you are closer to the rest of us!!!! thats WORTH the couple thousand more your paying for your car and rent!
mike u always bring out the bright side.
hahah of course i do!!! and its not a 3 hour drive to go out and do service!
You and Gab'd get along.
whats a "gabd"?
It's a homemade "Gab would" contraction.
ahhhhhh i see... very creative... BUT 100% WRONG! it should be "Gab'dda gotten along"
oh hush
man, i thought this was going to be one of those journals that would let me mock new jersey...but when it comes down to it, all the problems you listed are the same things that make new york...less than perfect
but at least we don't have urine colored license plates!
you were just reachin to say something mean weren't ya?
haha, yes...any chance to mock your urine colored license plates or gay governer must be taken
remember the vintage license plates... staight baby blue and all with yellow letters? oh yea.
yeah...i've seen those ones. Actually, perhaps one of the reasons i mention new jerseys "urine colored license plates" so much, is that i collect license plates...they are just fun...needless to say, i don't have nj...that'll be the 50th state i get
its the same here in california too! everything is WAY to expensive and too many peeps wanna live here. i mean i've seen 4 of the "urine colored" license plates (that tinser speaks of) here in so cal in this last week alone (amongst other east coast ones)
yeah, i really don't understand why people want to live around so many other people, considering traffic and just the annoyance of being around so many strangers
i guess the positives outweigh the negatives
I think it would be nice to live in a small town for a while. I'd have to be close to a big one tho...
i think the perfect living is a simple suburban area, with easy access to a city....it kinda gives you the best of both worlds
the only way i could live in a small town is if it's coastal or on an island, but other than that, i don't think i'd survive
why do you live on long island then? the Land of Constant Construction.
Yeah, I'll have to say the redeeming factor about PA is lower rent and insurance, but I disagree that traffic is not as bad. There's annoying traffic here in the Bethlehem/Allentown area. For instance, yesterday I was stuck in traffic on Route 22 (the only main artery) for 20 minutes because people were stopping to let traffic merge onto the highway. Then on the way home, there was traffic on 22 for some undisclosed reason so I got off to take the back way. I was then stuck behind 4, count 'em 4 elderly people, each in difference cadillacs, doing 30 in a 45. Then I went to the local ice cream joint to calm myself and the topping the slack-jawed kid put on my ice cream was stale. I miss New Jersey.
ice cream goes stale?
No, the topping was stale. READING COMPREHENSION.
be nice, he's new to this ice cream idea
actually, to side with dan, your sentence structure was horrible. You should have said, "The ice cream the slack jawed kid gave me had a stale topping on it." but thats ok... i got it only after a few times of reading it...
speaking of which, I got it only after reading it a few times... ;)~
Are you trying to challenge me to some kind of grammar war? For each sentence I speak, you're confused 3-4 times. That's not my fault. My sentence structure is correct. Remove the adjectives: "The topping the kid put on my ice cream was stale." Is that so hard?
i understood it the first time
maybe you should try not throwing in so many adjectives that in reading it, i have to take a breath...
You have to take a breath while reading silently? Maybe adjectives aren't your problem. :)
ice cream can go bad though...when it gets that icey layer on top
Yeah south jersey is a little bit better because it is cheaper, and traffic is not so bad, i NEVER hit traffic on the way to or from work. When i go up to Edison it's like a nightmare. Traffic is ridiculous and everyone is horribly rude.
Down here though, there is an ever-growing population of mullets.
I think you stole my thunder on jersey-hatin. There is a whole mindset of people i just don't understand...
you hate us (which includes me)
no its the state i hate. And yes many of its women, but i'm proud to say that none of them are on this site...
P.S.-You have no idea the trouble i once got in by saying i love you to YOU specifically once on here. I had to get Ian to remove if of all things...
NEW JERSEY GOT GEICO!!!!!!!!!!!
what do you care ... you don't pay insurance anyway
it did? wow, this i need to look in to.
wait, wait...new jersey didn't have geico before?!
why didn't anybody tell me this? yet another reason to mock that smelly state, boy even hick states aren't that far behind the times!
We had Geico and they took it away.
Yeah it has to do with the stupid laws nj has on car insurance.
