The Surreal Life

violetboregaurd by violetboregaurd · Sep 26, 2004 · 125 views · Journal

Alright so tonight i hung out with a mixed crew of kids, it was all a bit surreal to tell you the truth. In my years of "social"dom I have come across many parties, with people who are very cool, some people who are very boring and all ofcourse happen to be witnesses.
Well tonight I went out to the movies with a crew of people that crossed over three different stages in my life. Yet we were all sitting in the same theatre, watching the same "Schmecent" movie (not actually decent = schmecent) and all ending up at a local Starbucks.

When I was 15 there was this group of guys that were 17 and older who all my friends and I had crushes on. So tonight one of those guys, who is now 27 - and his younger brother who is 20 were together. And my little brother's "lady friend" was there as well, who happens to be best friends with a girl in my hall who is dating the afore mentioned 20 year old.
Then there was the married couple, who are two of my closest friends - who were chaperoning another girl that we knew when she was about 13 and is now dating a brother in her hall. And I was the older sister who hung out for awhile at the Starbucks -- while the married couple took the other dating couple home.

WHEN did this all happen? Five seconds ago I was 17 in this scenario and none of these people knew one another. Now this reaffirms the fact that the older you get in the truth the smaller your social circle becomes. Which is quite cool and re-emphasises that we are in a unified organization. Small world really is an understatement.

But my tea was very good and it was free.

these circles are smaller b/c of the internet - on AIM, it's no big deal to just talk to a friend of a friend - but on the phone, you wouldn't just call a friend of a friend to chat, that'd be too weird. then once your buddy list has some coffee, a little liqeur, it can party with the other buddies

coffee + liquor always equals a little party with the other buddies.
