In such a long time

web-toedchloe by web-toedchloe · Nov 29, 2004 · 287 views · Journal

I haven't written a journal for a while, and I need to eat up some time before my boss gets out of a meeting and expects me to be working.

So what are my thoughts? In no particular order:

1. All those wedding planning sites are annoying. They seem cool for like a month after you're engaged, then you realize they're just part of Big Brother's empire.

2. Work is incredibly boring. I wish I could make a living pioneering.

3. After a four-day weekend, I can't type correctly.

4. I wish I could open my own restaurant, cook all day and not do the dishes.

5. As I'm typing this, I've got a tab to howstuffworks.com, so I can learn about 401k plans. My office has one that will contribute up to 5% of my salary. Investing that 10% total with a 5% interest rate of return means I'll have over $2 million by the time I'm 65. I'm looking forward to that.

6. I made fries for lunch at home, which I rationalized as being ok because I had a cucumber too. Ketchup and cucumber do not mix.

7. I have to do laundry after work. Is it sick that I had a dream that my house had a washer and dryer last night? That's what I dream about. Washers and that fancy new dryer unit from Maytag that can line dry, hang dry and fit like 22 towels. I want that. Laundrymats suck.

8. I'm really thirsty, but some of my co-workers are having lunch in the kitchen and I'm feeling far too misanthropic to explain why I didn't have a big turkey dinner AGAIN.

9. My co-worker just knocked the lid off a box on the floor in my cube and didn't put it back on. Jerk.

10. I think I've been working too long because I can actually read my boss' handwriting.

11. My personality profile from SunShyne's journal months ago said I'm an INTJ personality. That means I like to make lists and attack problems in a methodical way. I've got lists for everything and I'm starting to sicken myself. Grocery lists, shopping lists, to-do lists, lists of files at work, lists of items not bought off my registry, lists of things I'm thinking about.

I love lists. I really need a palm-pilot. my pockets are filled with little pieces of paper with lists or sketches on them. then this morning I couldn't find them. i think they might have fallen out when I had to take my pants off at the hospital the other day. that really stinks. I would have heard my PDA fall. I'm also way too picky when I shop, which is why I haven't bought one yet.

i would def. say to get one asap. i can't remember life without mine. i have two organizers running in the same palm, so i can keep my personal life and congregation info separate from my work contacts and calendar. it makes life MUCH easier. i can actually think clearly because i'm not trying to remember stuff.

Donovan and I actually have a couple extra ones. We have a Palm II, a Palm II and an extra Clie that I've beaten up. They're just collecting space.

That was supposed to sound like an offer for one, if you're interested.

Also: when I lived in an apartment I was very jealous of all the people in apartments with washer/dryers. now that I've got them in our house, its great. no more treking down to the apartment building's basement 10 o'clock at night in the middle of winter.

i like to make lists, but i never really follow them. sometimes i write stuff ive already done on the list, just so i have something to cross off.

I do this ALL the time...when my mom gives me a list of chores, I put down the ones I already did and then cross 'em off. lol

every once in a while I make a list, do only 1/2 of it, and lose it...or leave it sitting around where I know I SHOULD do it, but don't care enough to actually do it.

I'm terrible with lists, I'm terrible with organization. I'm terrible because of procrastination.

To me it more like one talking to me about food, and I'm thinking about music, but I know whatcha mean. That option covers it. So I'm at that one.
