What is a Journal?

We here at eZabel have decided since it has been a while for the journals, a little clarification is in order. Well an actual journal is described in the dictionary as:

1. A ship's log - Stardate 2014, my companions and i have been stranded in space for a few years now. It appears inteligent life doesn't exist off this planet either.

2. An official record of daily proceedings, as of a legislative body - We decided it was best to stop putting people on trial for possible hangings so this definition is out.

3. A daybook - Well this is not a physical entity.

4. A book of original entry in a double-entry system, listing all transactions and indicating the accounts to which they belong - What the heck is this? I need a definition of this one.

5. A newspaper - The Dover street Journal just doesn't have the same ring.

6. A periodical presenting articles on a particular subject: a medical journal - There is definitely not one subject stuck to here.

7. The part of a machine shaft or axle supported by a bearing - I think i'll leave this one alone

8. A personal record of occurrences, experiences, and reflections kept on a regular basis; a diary - Ok so its not a diary unless you write it on your bed, in your pajamas, sipping hot chocolate and are talking about 'that dreamy guy from the diner with the emo hair.' But it is a record of the things above which i dont feel like retyping. Hopefully it will not be on too regular a basis, as we don't want to know how little of a life you have by reading every 3 hour block of it. Unless every three hour block you experience monkeys, salacious characters, are on the radio, see the best concert ever or there is a jerry springer episode at your job. Thank you and lets try not to be too callow in our subject matter.
