Memoirs of an Expat at heart - 1 year anniversary edition
The one year anniversary of being stateside has hit the 22 of December
I wanted to do this journal on that date, but didn't have the chance.
So, I'll get on with the Memorable moments now.
My time living and working in London was the single best time of the whole of my life.
Never have I experience so much in a 6 month period.
My most memorable experiences in the Isles were. .
Having to find a job
Having to find a place to live
Witnessing a disoriented East Ender questioning outloud and profoundly, going down the pavement, "Can you tell me the way to
get to Paddington Green?" That was only one question in the series of his "Paddington Green" questions. And, I think this was
in the Earl's Court area.
Studying Spiritual things in Russell Square, then later on in Kensington Gardens Square when I moved flat
Going to a Porteguese Convention
Going down Regent's Canal from Little Venice to Camden Town Market
Going to Greenwich and standing on the Prime Meridan of the World
Walking in the pedestrian tunnel from Greenwich to the Isle of Dogs
Seeing Much Ado About Nothing at Shakespeare's Globe
Seeing Julia Stiles in a 2 person / 1 set play
Scanning Vanilla Ice's & his daughters tickets when he came to The Eye
Mark McGraff coming to the Eye
The President of Botswana coming to the Eye
Giving English tourists directions
Giving American tourists directions with a London accent
Going to Pub comedy nights
Doing improv at a Pub comedy night and being asked to be a regular
Going to North Wales with just a small backpack and no booked hotel
Going to Dublin with a small suitcase and no booked hotel
Almost running out of cash in Dublin, having just enough to take the coach to the airport for the plane back to London
Having to borrow a tenner from a workmate so I could have something to eat that night
Witnessing a drunk trying to run after and flag down buses where there wasn't a bus stop
A busking Blues trio called The BooWeevils
All the Busking I miss
I guess I'll be updating this journal and just post now. There's so much too reminesce about.
I hope to be going abroad again in the near enough future. Possibilities might be Ireland, New Zealand, Australia, or Czech
Republic. We'll see. Right now, I have to establish myself with a little money. But, I am looking to eventually teach English
as a foreign language. Or maybe my current Real Estate job will open the door to work as an International property
specialist. Yes, my obsession with the other worlds is blaringly apparent. Sorry, sorry.
