A momentous day
It has been a momentous day for Matt and I. I'll let Funky give his own news, but here's mine:
I read for the first time for the bookstudy *in spanish*, which went better than I thought. I didn't crash and burn. It wasn't perfect, of course, but I got through the 6 paragraphs without too many problems. I'm really proud of that!
This was also my last bookstudy with Matt and Jesse. I was assigned to the Kingdom Hall bookstudy to be the assistant there. (OH NOsssssssssss!) Also my meeting night has changed, so... that'll take some getting used to.
Oh, and playing some b-ball tonight, I touched the rim--which I haven't done in like 2 years, because I didn't play enough. Yay!

Todd you did AWESOME reading last night. And being the assistant will be a good challenge that will really help you with the language
Matt says, "I'm so amped because I dunked 5 times cleanly in the gym last night! so weird, in the past week i sprained both of my ankles for the first time in like 3 years and then I dunked for the first time in about 3 or 4 years. last time i dunked i was about 30 lbs lighter. Now I gotta keep practicing so I can do it in a game."
He also said, "I don't want to blow up your spot."
So I said, "I'm putting it in my journal myself, then!"
And I just did.
Congrats! You must be making Jehovah's heart so glad. :)
thanks, Di.

good news i read: the reno 911 movie will include all cast members of the state including all the stella guys. very improvised movie. totally your guys type. thought it might add to the wonderful day.
i read that a little while back, should be funny!
this is very cool, it's awesome to see you guys making such an effort, learning a new language and all, very cool!
I want to hear Todd in SAP..
another momentous day!
Today, for my first time, I spoke spanish to a spanish householder(con espiritu santo, claro)!! What is more, I placed a Bible Teach book with him, and he said I could return. I think I might be able to start a study with him!!!! He was so nice, AND he speaks english, too!
Todd, you are being so blessed for all the hard work you are doing for Jehovah!
That's awesome!!! Looks like all your effort and hard work is paying off. Congrats!! :)
my favorite spanish word is culpable
i love the way it sounds
and it's sweet that it basically means culpable in english
culpable! culpable! okay saying it like 4 times in a row in my head made it not as cool anymore
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOES!
well, Thursday will be another momentous day. I hope I feel better by then. It's going to be my first part in the spanish meeting, and it's a doosey. (btw, how the heck do you spell doosey?) Anyways, it's a question and answer part, and I'll probably do terrible....without Jehovah's help, so PRAY FOR ME! I need all the help I can get!
when you mix english with spanish don't use a exaggerated, fake spanish accent
Just call on people and go "mmhmm..great point"
or "esacto, esssacto"
problem is, I won't really know if they are right or wrong. Most likely they are right, but not necessarily for the question I'm asking. haha. And sometimes they speak too fast for me to really understand. I'm going to have to give one of the elders a copy of my talk so they can help me from their seat...
just thank them. :) (you're gonna do great)
aw!! so cute!! i hope you feel better by then too! I'm sure you'll do great.
and a little side point:
My dad had to learn English obviously when we came here, he was in his 30's so you can imagine how hard that was. And not being able to express himself at the meetings, the theocratic language barrier - I know that hurt him a lot. The first couple talks in the Ministry School he would write in Polish and then have me translate them, and then he would read them to me to make sure he was pronouncing everything correctly. And of course eventually he was comfortable with the language, and I remember the first time he had a question and answer part in English - that was sooooo hard for him, I'm sure people still talked a little too fast for him and on top of that he was really nervous!! and he did great. I was so proud :)
if he can do it, you can dooo eeeet!
I wish I had gotten a #2 talk or something first.. :(
Doozie.
ah, thanks
No problem....it's sad that I know that.
"So you also, when you have done all that you were ordered to do, say, "We are worthless slaves, we have only done what we ought to have done." :']
I luv this scripture, it should keep all of us so humble and grounded =)
