New Chapter...
....in the book that is my life.
So this moving thing is kinda weird. I mean, I've settled in pretty well for right now, and most days I feel pretty okay with the move. There have only been a few times that I've gotten a little withdrawn, I think from just being in a new area where I only know limited people.
Some nice things have happened since we got here though.....we have a REALLY nice place to stay until we find a place, which we just did on Friday. And the brother and sister who own our soon-to-be home are super nice, and are renting it very cheap. There is literally nothing in the area this inexpensive.
I've been able to bond with Adam's sisters really well too. I got alon with them well before, but I spent 3 days driving across the country with his youngest sister, who by the way is awesome (and single, boys!!), and found out we have SO much in common. She's great. And his other sister is cool too....haven't gotten to spend as much time with her yet, but I'm sure that will change.
Also, Adam's cousin, who is one of my good friends, (and also single, guys!!) lives here too, so it's nice to see her again. She was one of my best friends when she lived in Ohio.
But aside from them and Adam's parents, those are really the only people I know well out here. I've met some of the other couples our age, but I don't know them well enough yet, to just call them up to hang out, without it being kinda weird. So that's gonna be a big adjustment.
Also, not having a job yet, kinda bums me out. It was awesome in Ohio, because I had stuff to keep me busy with the packing for the move. Now it's like, "ok, we're here...now what?"
But I do have two interviews this coming week, both really god jobs, so I am happy about that.
No regrets on the move, though. I LOVE the weather here, and the view in my town (Fountain Hills, Arizona) is amazing....you can see mountains for miles, and you can see Four Peaks and Red Rock from almost anywhere in the town. And everything is still really close, too. Not super far away....and there are SO many more cool choices of places to go. I went out in service on Friday and Saturday, and both days for break we stopped at this bakery/cafe that is now my new place to go. SO yummy. And I felt really good about going out in service. I think I'm gonna do that more, to keep busy until I have a job.
Tyler's school is also rught around the corner from where we're gonna live. A 2 minute drive, at the most. So hopefully I can get a work schedule to fit his school schedule, so I can either drop him off or pick him up, or both. And hopefully he stays excited about it....he got homesick the other night after the meeting, and it broke my heart. :(
And yeah, I miss talking to you guys as much. I wasn't on as much before we moved because of all the packing, but now I feel like I haven't talked to you guys in AGES!! So start planning your trips out west. We'll go meet up with Socal while you're out. :)

and we already miss you. So glad you're liking your new home. It may take a little while to get aquainted with everyone in the new cong, but try to get aquainted with EVERYONE. Give everyone a chance.
When I left the congregation I grew up in (by switching to spanish) I knew a few people in the spanish congregation, but not many. But now, I feel close to many of them, young and old. I consider a few couples as my "secondary parents", because of the way they've welcomed me in. It's really awesome, and truly a blessing from Jehovah.
Like Jehovah had written in the Bible (loosely quoted): Who does not give up brothers and sister, and mother and blah blah blah, and not gain more brothers and sisters, and mothers and fathers, and blah diddly blah blah." What I'm trying to say is that Jehovah is going to bless your efforts, and your congregation will totally pull you close.
Mark 10:29,30. One of my favorite scriptures.
thanks! For the lazy ones, I know I shouldn't do this, but....
29 Jesus said: “Truly I say to YOU men, No one has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or fields for my sake and for the sake of the good news 30 who will not get a hundredfold now in this period of time, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and fields, with persecutions, and in the coming system of things everlasting life.
Thanks Todd....it's always good to have reminders like this. With nothing to do here right now until we get settled, I've spent the past few days out in service (Friday, Saturday, and today), so it's given me a chance to get to know some other people, and to do something productive. Hopefully with whatever job I get, I'll be able to still get out in service a few days during the week. I'd love to start auxiliary pioneering again...it may take some time though.
Too bad these cousins and sisters of Adam live 3000 miles away or I'd take you up on their singleness. ;o)
Glad to hear you are liking things though. I can understand Tyler's feelings. Jacob is a little upset that he has to make new friends where we are now and we only moved 12-15 miles west of our old place. But Hackettstown has alot of kids his and Emily's ages so he'll be ok as I'm sure Tyler will.
I'm sure you guys will thrive out there. Enjoy!
Yeah, there's a good amount of kids in the hall here, and he knew a couple of them from when we'd visit before. And three of them go to his school, so it will be nice for him to see them.
And hey, if you ever change your mind about moving, I'll put a good word in for you with the sister and/or cousin. They're both uber-good looking. Hahaha. :)
You got pics? LOL!
I do have pics....somewhere. I'll get them on here somehow. Except they are mostly older, like 3 years, and while they are flattering, the current pics are SO much better. His sister got even better looking. :)
Stop teasing us and just post them! :)
I will have his sister email the pics she took of us....soon, boys, hahahah.
Ok, for you impatient people....here is a pic that's about 2 and a half years old....Adam's sister is the brunette on the other side of Tyler, and his cousin is right next to her, in the red scarf. Both girls have lost the "baby" look in their faces, and now look like mature women.....super cute.

:) hahaha...it's Tyler, dude. But you're forgiven....this time. :)
huh?
Glad you guys are somewhat settled in for the time being. You'll make friends before you know it!
And, remember that old job you had in Ohio? And how stressful your last couple of weeks were? Does it even seem like it matters anymore? haha
Oh totally.....that was a stupid job, hahaha. I'm not gonna try to get back on with the company....I cannot do retail anymore, hehe.
Good thing is, I've got 2 interviews this week, and I just got a call last night about setting up a third. I hope Adam starts getting the calls soon too...he doesn't want just any job where he won't be happy, so we're praying about it.
I'm not sure if I missed something, I think I missed something, but was there a reason you had to move? Did Adam get a job in Arizona? It seems like all of a sudden you guys moved and I feel bad but I can't remember if it was something bad or good that made you move.
Sorry for my ignorance.
No, it's ok. There were a few reasons we decided to move. We probably could have waited a little longer, but we didn't want to move Tyler after school had started (it starts here August 14th), and we didn't want to wait another year. It was very necessary for us to move though,....but I won't bore you with details. Adam was trying to stay on with his company, but they kinda said last minute that they couldn't transfer him. So now he has the option to go with Fry's out here, which is a chain of the previous company, but they want to put him into more of a retail management position, which has horrible hours, but pays the same as he was making in Ohio. Except that he was doing IT work before, and has no desire to do retail, especially shitfs that would make him not be home at night. So therein lies the dilemma.
okay, well it sounds good, i'm sure it'll work out for you guys
arizona is very nice, i liked it there, and you're close to California which really can't be beat
Whic means when you come out west to visit, (or live), you'll have the best of both worlds!!!
Yay! I'm glad you guys are all safe and getting settled. If everyone there turns out to be lame you can always just come on ezabel all day and chat with us :)
YIPPPPPEEEEEE you're closer to MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!! lol
