Good Times in Sedona

Seeing as how my brother and his wide flew all the way across the country to come visit us, we thought we'd show them more than just the spiders, scorpions and snakes, oh my.
So Saturday we went up to Sedona. We didn't plan on doing any hiking (this time), but we figured there would be plenty of walking around to do, with all the shopping there is up there.
But first, it was lunchtime.

We pull into town shortly after 1pm, and decide to go to this brand new Mexican restaurant that was having their grand opening that very day. So we go in, get our table, and sit down. It was one of those non-chain, very much family-owned, quaint little places. We saw a bunch of adults running around behind the counter and in the kitchen, so we assumed one of them would be over shortly.

A few minutes later, a little boy, literally no more than a year older than Tyler, comes up to the table, and asks us what we'd like to drink. It sort of stunned us, but apparently Tyler saw nothing out of the ordinary with the whole thing, and gave the kid his drink order. The kid walks off, and comes back with Tyler's drink. Then he moves to my brother, asks him what he wants to drink, walks off, returns with said drink. This continued until we all had our beverages.

So he goes away, and comes back with chips, and is followed by our actual waiter, who I'm sure could not have been older than 12, at the most. He had his little pad of paper and pen ready, and asked for our order.
While all this is going on, there's another little boy, maybe about 10, running around from table to table, bringing out drinks, food, clearing plates, etc. Oh, and as he's bringing chips to tables, he's sampling them as well.....quality assurance, or something like that, hahaha.
But I swear, you'd have thought he was the owner or something, the way he was running around working his booty off....and he was getting tips (apparently very unexpected too, from the way he was smiling each time someone handed him a few bucks).
Being their first day and all, they were apparently having some timing issues, and had two customers back to back, saying it took 90 minutes to get their food (**my question is, why would you wait 90 minutes to say somthing? Doesn't it become your fault at that point?**)
So after that, they were SUPER attentive to the tables, and the chip-eating kid came over about 5 times in less than 10 minutes to check on us, three of those times to tell us how sorry he was that the food was taking a little while.

In the end, my sister-in-law and I wound up tipping all 3 boys for their hard work, and giving mad props to the two teenage girls at the register when we cashed out. I guess the adults in the kitchen and behind the counter actually stayed there the whole time, because none of them waited tables the whole time we were there.
But it was awesome....the food was fantastic, the kids were SO entertaining, and we were smiling so hard that our faces hurt by the time we left. And honestly, we got better service there, than from some adults at nicer restaurants.
We had a blast....so if you're ever in Sedona, head to Angel's....quality entertainment, and good food. :)
