stupid back

malibu by malibu · May 11, 2007 · 303 views · · · Article

so lots of people have back problems and i've just never been one of them. not to say i didn't believe how much pain they said they were in, i just never personally experienced it until now.

so for some reason accoriding to a radiologist i now have 5 bad discs. to be exact 3 bulging and 2 herniating discs. now normally yes this is extrememly bad news. but what could possibly make this news worse????..............the fact that on sunday i am supposed to be leaving for italy!!!!!!!!!!!! a year of making perfect travel plans and getting all the hostel reservations, tickets, trains, everything and now i can't go. unbelievable. and so i go to the spinal surgeon and he's so nonchalent about it. yeah your back's broken, yeah you cant walk, and no you cant go on your trip. unbelievable.

now two weeks of plans completely out the window. not to mention that now i have no idea when i get to reschedule the trip b/c i may have to get surgery. i'm just so aboslutely frustrated. so to all those people i knew when i never really sympathized with you that much about your pain, i'm sorry. cuz now i feel it.

ohhhhhhhh wow sorry to hear this :(

my back hurt for about 6 months.. every day.. of pain. Chiropractic helped. Also stregth exercises for the back. But yeah mine wasn't as bad as yours :( I basically have one hip about 1.5 inches higher than the other and it creates all kinds of tension on my lumbar region and that hurt like CRAAAAZY every day and I thought it was gonna be like that forever. Fortunately it finally went away.

Sooo so so so so sorry to hear this, back pain is the worst, and spinal surgery is NO JOKE. :(

oh man, that's horrible :/ focus on getting yourself better! you'll be able to go to italy again :)

what happened to cause this??? have you been to a chiropractor? i can recommend one that really helped me when i had some back problems a few years ago. nothing like what you're experiencing, though, of course.

Sorry Julz *BIGGEST HUG EVER* especially after all your planning and just the excitement. But, it's better to get everything corrected now, while you can still heal quickly and get rehabilitated relatively easily verses in a few years =(

My sister has has sum really bad back issues to so I can't related personally but, totally know where you're coming from.

Take care of yourself bunny ;)

Aww! I'm so sorry, hun! Are you still living with your parents so they can serve as your slaves while you're in bed?

My mom had disc issues and had to have surgery. She let it go too long, though, and she had to wear a brace for a long time after the surgery. Maybe getting it done now while you're young is better than waiting until you're older and won't heal as quickly.

Still, I'm so sorry! We'll be thinking about you.

yeah family definetely helps out. i just picked one comment to reply to. but i'm hoping not to take it to surgery. i have two weeks to see if it gets better and then the doctor said probably surgery. but then again when you go to someone's whose job is surgery, all they want to do is surgery. chirocractor won't help becuase of the specific situation and the muscle nerves that its laying on. basically causing sciattica but to the point that i dont have the reflex reaction on my right ankle. i just heard about a brother in p.a. that does neuro deep tissue massages so i'm definetely gonna be looking into it for treatment. cuz as mentioned surgery is not joke. but thanks so much to everyone for your love and concern!!!

wow! are you okay? what happened?

malibu malibuOG 2001 ·

its the weirdest thing but all that happened was someone cracked my back for me. and it felt great. like cracked up and down my back (which is weird because normally my back doesn't crack that much) everything was all good and the next day it just felt like i couldn't move. i just musta have had the situation and this just aggravated it to this point. stinks that the point is cancelling trips.

but its really insane because my mom is having such a similiar problem. she didn't do anything and then just couldnt feel her fingers and it turns out she has a herniated disc in her neck. neither of us are ever really hurt or sick and now we're down at the same time with basically the same pain only differing in arm/leg.

so to update i went to a brother that does deep tissue neurology massages. the most painful experience ever. something that i imagine having children is like. his conclusion of my back problems was that my pelvis was twisted 6inches out of alignment. like the right side of my pelvis was rotated out and the left side rotated in. so he did his job and the pain seems to be slowly subsiding after each visit. i have one more and then i think i'll be okay. but i will kinda miss my pimp limp that i was walking.
but in other news it just made me super excited that i can walk and move around again because i just picked up my cap and gown for graduation!! i it's tonight and i had decieded to skip it since i would be in italy but now i'm home and i'm pretty excited to walk in it. its a shame that you can really never were the cap and gowns again. there's so many in my house that that i'm tempted to start making dresses out of them.
but thanks again for everyone's concern!!

did you go to Derek Oliver?

and did he make you fart?

malibu malibuOG 2001 ·

i did indeed go to derek but no on the farting question. which leads me to believe that you have gone and he made you fart. he just gave me bruises.

iwz iwz ·

I will never go for fear of farting.

flomojopoanode flomojopoanodeFounder ·

hey ian, remember the time when you farted so loud you woke up the WORLD?
