Amazing Greek
I never post the weddings I photograph on here Or anywhere else other than my website because I don't want people to think I am bragging or anything else!
BUT I have to share this wedding with everyone. It was out of this world!.
It was a real traditional Greek wedding. I love Greek weddings I have photographed them before but none of them held to tradition so close as did this Greek wedding. They spared no expense or detail. Everything was AMAZING. There was over 500 Guests. They had 2 bands, one Greek, one American. The Greek band came and played at the house while everyone was running about getting ready. It was so great to see when the Aunts & Uncles would chime in with the singing. So Great!
A few of the traditions they did.
They had a parade around the block starting at the bride’s house with the groom’s family and a Greek band, & Irish bagpipe player lead.
When the groom got back to the house he had to throw and apple over the brides house.
Then on the inside the sponsors of the wedding the male had to stuff the brides shoe with money until her foot could not fit. It was so awesome! They were stuffing hundreds at one point!
Once her shoes where on the godmother would come and adorn her with a shoulder wrap, comb her hair, spray her with perfume, and give kisses and kisses.
While all this was going on the Greek band was playing amazing music.
The Bride gets up and dances in the room for a little bit with all the close family members around and aunts and uncles singing along with the band.
Everyone who is in the house takes a break and enjoys the catered food, including me & my assistant. We were starved by then. Ha ha
Once everyone has had there fill of delicious foods, everyone except the aunts, uncles, sponsors and parents leave the house. 2 of the bridesmaids carry out the veil.
The bride waits inside at the front door as each and every aunt comes out she kisses there ring and they give kisses and words of goodness.
When everyone has exiting it is tradition that she step over a pie and kick over a jug of water with basil flowing over.
Then we are on our way to the ceremony. The ceremony was a pretty traditional Greek Ceremony, singing, walking in circles, yada yada
Then portraits on the beach that went SUPER QUICK. Iee.
And NOW the reception. OH! The cocktail hour was I forget the name of the room it was in but it was all Indian like, with statues and carved wood and on the balcony. It was really cool! Then the reception aside from the typical stuff going on at any reception, they did traditional Greek dances, she did a special old world dance with her father who was in a wheel chair, (the wheel chair btw , AMAZING, it climbed stairs). The night was filled with so many fun Greek circle dances money being thrown in the air the entire night, the dance floor was covered with money. It was funny because you can tell the crowd was more in to the Greek band then the American band because more than half was Greek speaking, circle dancing, and money throwing guests! Oh this was my favorite Greek Wedding! & what made this wedding particularly so amazing is everyone was so down to earth and friendly. At the end of the night the father gives me double kisses and tells me he was so happy to have me photograph the wedding and that I did an amazing job and he really appreciated my energy through out the day! I love clients like this!
Locations: Brides House: Atlantic City, NOT what I expected this house was HUGE. And AMAZING inside. Of course my favorite part was the kitchen. Here are some of the photos.

Ceremony: Egg Harbor, This was actually less colorful than most of the Greek orthodox churches I have been in. Usually the dome is covered with colorful paintings. This one was not. Here are a few photos:

Portraits: Atlantic City Beach. Eh, not my favorite, we had close to no time there was a thousand people on the beach and just the potential we could have had would have been amazing if we had more time. I do like the photos though on the balcony and in the cocktail hour room. Here are some of the photos:

House of Blues- The most amazing place for a wedding. If you have not been to the house of blues it is full of art on the walls, everything is real eclectic and artsy basically. It is amazing! Here are some photos.
