The California Burden

ekulu by ekulu · Jul 18, 2002 · 100 views · · · Journal

It's not my fault. I only live in California.

I'm taking all this heat because i live in "cali", as some are prone to call it, and i don't do all the things that it seems that person living where i live, in this legendary land, would take advantage of. It's kind of terrible that people put that in my face, seeing that my circumstances right now wont allow me to do much. And if i could, i would do those things. But there's so much behind the reasons why i dont, or can't at the moment. Sure, I'd love to do those things. Man, if i could swim at least. But there are reasons and circumstances that keep me from these hings. Now i'm starting to feel really depressed...

Haha...but i'm kind of whining here...lalala...beach is great, wonderful...and i guess i should be getting out more.

well, you know, the stereotypical things of any area are just that: stereotypes. i know people who live 5 miles from the beach and go less than people 50 miles. same thing with mountains and snowboarding.

to each his own, i say. you don't have to conform to any sterotype. everyone has their own circumstances. for instance, i didn't go snowboarding once this past winter: i was too busy with wedding/engagement stuff.

BUT, i do have to say that it IS very important to do some things you enjoy. something to enjoy life. whatver your circumstances are, make the best of them. hang with friends, make new friends, go in service more... you know.
