Holy of Holies
you reach into the colescent place
hands quivering and cold from the search
a holy hollow heaven rises in the veins
of fingers past shock and trembling
with which i paruse various states of being
only to find my soul derobed and vacant
brittle and vulnerable scars from past wars
upon crying skin
that reaches up to a father
who resides in a sky too close to touch
and the words are written upon him
his eyes a scroll, his hand full of ink-like blood
and the words, the words he hears
something like "i'm sorry", rings through his bones
and makes him free
before the sky to see the sign
scrawled out in amongst placated clouds
the word
"forgiven"
