yo i SOOOO wish i lived in CA for something like that...make a demo cd of yourself introducing some songs (only 10 secs worth of music, then you talk again)...put in a LOT of different kinds of music that you like, from the beatles to punk to rap, so they know you're varied, and make sure you SPEAK CLEARLY AND DON'T STUTTER! tell some stories about some songs you like...like ..."this was written when the lead singer XXX" or ..."I've always thought this song was about X, but it's really about Y" ..and if you are REALLY talented, you can get a speakerphone next to your comp when you do this, have your friends call in and make requests, you chat with them live..do interviews...wow this sounds like SOOO much fun!!!!!!!!!1

For some reason, when I saw this last night I though Thai posted it... anyway, go for it! I always wanted to be a DJ and if this works out well, perhaps it can support your pioneering!
esp when u get to play/introduce songs u wouldn't even THINK about purchasing...or when you get to interview the local mayor about how the christmas decorations are coming along!
