WELL! You guys prolly didnt even realize i was gone- but i havent been online in a couple of days...reason being? I was a guest at Brooklyn Bethel. Sunday, after the meeting Jeanette Franklin (the bethel sister in my hall) came up to me and told me that her husband and herself had gotten two guests to stay for monday and tuesday night but had cancled on them last minute and wondered if i would like to stay with a friend in their place. WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT a privledge and blessing! I took with me a sister that is visiting from Kansas who had never been to brooklyn bethel before- actually she'd never been to NY before. First, monday during the day we went up to wallkill and took a tour up there and got to eat lunch (jonathan bogert got us in) After that, we drove back to NJ and then OFF TO BROOKLYN! On our way to bethel, instead of getting on the BQE i by mistake took the belt pkwy (DUH!)so i had to rush- get off of there and find my way back to 278 E. Well, eventually i found my way and had 10 min to walk to the 107 building (we were parked closer to 25) So, i finally get down to the kingdom hall where watchtower study is taped, and sit down where Ken & Jeanette saved us seats, but looked around for my 2 friends skip & dodge who were supposed to be in the same room. I turn and look to my right and guess whos sitting next to me?! SKIP DODGE DAVE AND MIKE!!! so funny (not that most of you know these people, but it was so random that i ended up sitting right next to them) So then watchtower study starts. It was such an amazing experiance. Not only did we get to go to Watchtower study monday night, but there was a bethel lecture afterwards. then tuesday morning morning worshiped talked about maintaining your joy... so awesome. Actually theres a story about monday morning (isnt there always with me?) well, i set the alarm in the room for 6am b/c i wanted to have ample time to get ready. well the phone rings and im all 'hello' half asleep. It was my friend skip making sure i was up ( THANK GOODNESS FOR SKIP! ) well- it was 650 am! morning worship starts at 7! im so proud of this: Holly & I got ready in about 7.5 minutes and ran down the stairs down to the dining room with ONE MINUTE TO SPARE! thats right 2 girls- 1 bathroom- got ready. AND we looked presentable, i didnt have makeup on- but it wasnt too bad. haha- that was interesting. We then took 2 tours, one in 30 (the office complexes- which consist of pictures and closed doors) and then took the 360 tour that my friend Jeremy gave. it took 3 hours!!!!!!!!!! he brought us places, that we probably shouldnt have been! hehehe it was so much fun though. Then!!!!!!!!! My friend Dave asked if we wanted to go to his bookstudy instead of going all the way back to Jersey. So, i went with him, and guess who is in his bookstudy? Brother Lette (if you dont know - thats one of the governing body) i sat next to his wife and him. It was a little nerve racking trying to answer b/c well- he knows the bible! but i did- and it was an awesome bookstudy. This morning we went to morning worship in the 30 building and during, they talked about the new printing presses that are going to be in wallkill. they will be able to print 90,000 magazines an HOUR! AND! i dont know if you guys realize but, you know how in our publications every other page is black and white? well- with the new printing presses they can make EVERY page (thats all 4) in color!!! how awesome is that?! After that, we took the factory tour with a brother that i grew up with which was also nice. Anyway- i didnt want to leave...and im actually going back tomorrow cuz a girl in my hall who isnt baptised would like to take a tour- hahaha i just cant get enuff!!! :-D So that was my awesome experiance, i just wanted to share. I love bethel so much, the brothers that get to stay there really have a priveldge.

you know, last time i was at bethel, matt said to me..."can you imagine trying to explain this to people in the new system who died before bethel was built?" I was busy thinking..."well, it's this giant place with the 3rd cleanest kitchen in New York City, it has a maze of underground tunnels, an assembly hall, a couple of kingdom halls, people who make books all day and a LOT of spiritual food!"
while we're on that subject it is really difficult to explain bethel to someone who has never been there, or only seen pictures. it's something you just HAVE to see.
and sisters...don't forget they have the privilege too. that was funny about the 7.5 mins/1 bathroom/2 girls part lol. but seriously, a stay at bethel is a privilege no matter for how long. allen foote and i stayed at walkill for a week when we were...well, i was 18. those memories come up every now and then. good times.
