Starship Exeter

For all you Star Trek fans out there...

Some folks did a Star Trek movie based on the original Trek series, set aboard the USS Exeter. The link is here

It looks pretty well done, but the acting is, well, by amatuers and is cheesy, but I'm checking it out now...

Just got through the first act... yeah, cheesy acting, worse than the original series ever was, but boy, the special effects and the music is right on target. The ships are CGI and the bridge of the Exeter is green screen. A cool effort....

No... I watched the whole thing... it was really well done, but the acting was cheesy... unprofessional. The FX were cool, though and the story was in line with TOS

hmm, interesting that it's the starship Exeter. I just saw a program last night on TV, and many of people from the town Exeter in the new england area claim to have seen a UFO. They said it made almost NO noise, and all they could see were bright red lights that shined in their eyes. For 3 weeks or so, the town of Exeter was a hot-spot of "ALIEN" activity. Could this be why they chose to name the star trek starship "Exeter"? Speaking of Exeter...has anyone ever seen "mystery science theater 3000 the movie(MST3K-TM)" or "this island earth"? In it there is this alien, NAMED EXETER, who ends up saving the main character's life. MST3K-TM is so funny!

is that out on tape?

which one? The program I caught last night, MST3K-TM, or This Island Earth?

MST3K-TM can be found on Video Cassette and DVD, but the DVD version is extremely rare, and no new DVD's are being sold. You might find the DVD version on Ebay or Half.com, or somewhere else where used items are sold. This Island Earth can definately be found on Video Cassette. I was at a movie store that was going out of business, and I wanted to buy MST3K, but they only had This Island Earth left, which they suggested...but I declined. That program I caught on TV was called "would you believe?" on the discovery channel last night. I'm sure you could get a copy of that from their webpage, if you want it that bad (hahaha, I doubt this is the video you wanted).

it's great! Rent it ASAP! You can also rent the regular shows of MST3K(if they have them near you..)

Hey Todd... The USS Exeter was seen in the Star Trek (Original Series) episode "The Omega Glory". This internet episode that fans did was set on that ship with a new crew (in The Omega Glory the crew was dstroyed by a virus and the Captain went renagade)

I was thinking the exact same thing. And my question is, why did they choose that one for the movie. I mean it was a regular episode...
