Okay.. I mused on this.. I need help...

I'm running my machine with Win ME on it... everything was great til yesterday... everytime I try to open Internet Explorer or a window (Like "My Computer" or "Recycle Bin" for example) on the computer, I get an error saying "(Internet) Explorer has caused and error in FTAPP.DLL. If you continue getting this error, please reboot".
I have:

rebooted
hard booted
reloaded Windows over my current install AND
tried to reload IE (Get errors saying it can't be installed)

I'm not running an Anti-Virus...If someone has a good up to date one I can try, that would be good.. any otehr ideas? I DON'T want to format and start from scratch...
