Betcha By Golly Wow

There was a viewpoint question in the bookstudy tonight that asked "What impresses you about our earth?" Now I for one, HATE viewpoint questions, because they say that there is no wrong answer, but you know that there is some idiot somewhere that could get it wrong. Like if somebody asked you, "What is your feeling on the U.S. bombings of the middle east??" Would "Florida" be a correct answer??? NO!! Would "What is crest?" be a correct answer?? NO!! They are tricking you by saying there is no wrong answer, when in reality, there are INFINITE incorrect answers!! Suppose I should choose one by mistake! So usually when viewpoint questions are posed, I scurry like rats from a burning chinese restaurant (rats plural, to emphasize the scurrying in multiple directions)

Anyway, what was my original topic? Ah yes...well this viewpoint question actually made me think. What impresses ME about the earth?? Hmmm, well I thought and I thought, and here is what I came up with:

Lederhosen (no explanation needed obviously)

The fact that the lyrics to "La Bamba" actually translate to, "I am not a sailor, I am a captain" and yet it was still considered a hit.

Britney Spears lives here, and so did um, what's his name...Napoleon.

How static electricity seems to strike in the most deadly ways and when you least expect it.

The duck-billed platypus...bird, mammal, or creature that lives in stealth in your closet and is trying to kill you?

Crossword puzzles (who comes up with those things anyway???)

And of course, the beautiful, yet dangerous catsnip root.

So I tried explaining this to the rest of the bookstudy, and they kinda just snickered at me. Then somebody else made a comment about something like, well its the only planet that supports life, how everything is in such balance, how if the earth was further from the sun we'd all freeze and if it was closer we'd be incinerated and, uh, what was that other thing? oh right, the solar system or something like that, BLAH BLAH BLAH!! Meanwhile, nobody considers the DEEPNESS of my point! Nobody understands me...at least I have Britney.
