Matt: The Not so Great Adventures

thefunkyfresh by thefunkyfresh · Apr 14, 2001 · Article · 57 views

I hope everybody that went to Great Adventure today had a good time! I guess I just wasn't in the mood for a great adventure...what I needed was more of an "ok" adventure, something a little more subtle, yet totally off the walls. So, I went over Sten's house, had a vegan meal and watched a really weird, dark, and DEPRESSING movie called Brazil.

I didn't go on any rollercoasters today, but it sure feels like it. My head is spinning one way, but I can't collect my thoughts enough to make sense of the smelling salts that are also used for seasoning. Just a pinch! You know how easy it is to overdo the inevitable...frustrating, yet purposeful. annoying, yet ingnorant, evil, ornery and mean. What do I mean? What do I mean by 'mean'? What do I mean by 'by'? What is the meaning of my argument? Does my argument have a meaning, or do I simply argue for the sake of arguing? Can this be an argument if I am the sole arguee and there is nobody to take up the contrary position? What if there was somebody, but they took my side? Or what if they didn't but refused to argue? Or what if they didn't care either way and just said, "by golly, you just do that thing you do best. The ball is in YOUR court baby. Never eat mothballs with gravy, they're much better on the half shell."

And for all you young people out there, dissatisfied and disallusioned by life's kinks and quirks, looking for answers somewhere out there over the "rainbow" of questions, please realize, there aren't any quick fixes or fairy tale endings or streets paved with recycled egg cartons. Everything takes diligence and hard work. Except for sleeping. And eating, and talking. And breathing. Come to think of it, there are lots of things that DON'T take diligence and hard work, but take my word for it, if you do decide to take that route, please send all contributions to the following address:
