Sketchy Server Performance
Any of you who may have tried to access eZabel anytime this afternoon may have noticed it's been a little squirrely, going up and down quite a bit. I have contacted the Technical Support dept. at my hosting service inquiring about the problem. I have yet to hear back from them. But for the moment, it seems like eZabel is back up. No guarantees, and the server could go down again at any moment. The server is hosted out of California, so I really hope it isn't being affected by their mandated rolling power outages. Maybe I should look for a host in New Jersey somewhere. And no, not you Larry! Haha...
Update: I was right, they had some blackouts in CA yesterday. Click on the Read More link to read the e-mail I got from Tech Support regarding this.

Subject: Power outage in Palo Alto, CA
Dear Customer,
Your server may be experiencing a temporary interruption of service.
A local, city utility has advised us of a circuit problem and have
estimated repair by 4pm PST though it appears that they are ahead of
their own ETA and the power can be restored any minute.
Intermedia.NET's back up power systems are functioning and restoring
power to servers. Power has been restored to approximately 90% of
customers, the rest should be restored soon.
We plan to run systems diagnostics for all servers after the power is
restored completely and may have to reboot some servers later on this
afternoon PST.
We apologize for the problem and thank you for your patience.
Sincerely,
Intermedia.NET Support
So, there ya have it. Having your website hosted in California is not the best idea right now. I might actually consider using Larry's connection someday. But I know he would not be giving me 24/7 support.

man, california's only good for sun, I guess. even then, it's causing things to burn. then there's always earthquakes, rocky beaches, droughts, mudslides, smog, punk rock bands, and other disasterous things. Now there's Power Outages, and WE have to feel the consequences! I really hope california does just become it's own island sometimes. (this is just meant to make you think, I don't really mean anything bye...well, except for the bad stuff that I point out about California)
