Memorial Day Weekend
Welcome back to the real world.
I love having fridays off. If any of you can actually work out a schedule where you don't have to work on friday, do it. One of the main advantages is having a three-day-weekend every single week. This is great if you have a girlfriend that lives three hundred miles away, and you can only see her a weekend at a time. You can drive out late thursday night, or early friday morning and have a few solid days of quality time before heading home on Sunday (and vice-versa, too).
Plus, there are other fringe benefits, not immediately obvious. Like on Memorial Day Weekend! You get a four day weekend out of the deal, cause Memorial Day is always on a monday, plus then you only have to work three days the following week! It's great!
But I digress. I had a very nice weekend, overall, despite the rain. A small group of us went to see Cirque Du Soleil (that's pronounced "sirk deux sew leigh" for the lay-person ; ) in Jersey City on friday. So awesome! The show was amazing, and a lot of fun. If you're into acrobatics and displays of strength and skill, mixed up with crazy costumes and engaging music, go see it, you'll enjoy it. Or just watch the PBS special on the show next time it's on.
I didn't watch one second of the NBA Playoffs this weekend, nor did I follow anything involving the President, or current events.
Got to see Pearl Harbor, as well. I liked it! Mikayla didn't. I enjoyed the love story, and found the action scenes (i.e. blowing stuff up) to be very good. Mikayla says the love story was predictable, and the action scenes were way too long. Generally, I came out happy, and Mikayla came out wishing it had ended an hour earlier. We're like the new Siskel & Ebert! We give it 1 thumb up, and one thumb halfway up, slightly wavering, as if it had just been through a long and tiring thumb wrestling match. (I hope you don't mind, Kayla!)
Ok, that's it for now. I've got some more good links coming up for you guys, so I'll try to post them up here tomorrow. Love ya!

Trying to impress everyone, I asked when the football game started.
Everyone was impressed.
was that you, Di?
Except that it wasn't a football game, but a chess tournament.
Yeah i agree with Ian....you have to see Pearl Harbor..it was awesome! Everyone thinks it just a war movie
and that they know exactly what will happenin the story, like in the Perfect Storm movie....but this movie was funny,
had an love story with a twist, and the action was awesome! and to me it seemed like it was shorter than
3 hours. So many people were crying in the theatre...the movie touched me as well cause i am so into
that war cause i have heard stories from my grandfather and his brother my whole life. so go see it! i was looking forward to it coming out so bad
and now i am looking forward to "The Fast and Furious" coming out June 22 =)
3 hours!?!? sounds like another Titanic to me
3 hours isn't that bad... it goes by so fast in the movie, this movie is defintely worth it ...well i and all who saw it with me felt the same way
i defintely recomended it. you can see that or shrek...and i heard the Mummy Returns sucks...LOL I soundl
like a movie critic...
Shrek was definitely good.
I wasn't impressed by Pearl Harbor, it's kinda one of those....see it just to see it once. It's kinda predictable. Sure it doesn't drag on....if you don't see what's coming. That's my veiw on that junk. Peace
I hated it. They could have cut a good hour out of it. The love story was crap and boring and also emotionally repulsive.
the only good thing about the movie was anything that didn't have to do with the love story. Not just the bombings and special effects but the story that had to do with the warnings and how the japanese prepared for the attack.
Again, about the first hour of the movie was just horrible and how that woman was with those guys was just crap.
I could go on, but I'd spoil the movie for everybody
well hey I Loved it so...whatever but no question about it the best parts were the planes it was so
awesome seeing fully restored planes like that still flying! i know a lot of the flight seens were graphix but
wow! The P-51 is like my favorite and dream plane i want to fly some day the Zero's, and the B-25s
but i mean everyone ha there own opinion on the movie and a lot of people i know that normally wouldn't
go for a movie like this Loved it!! so HA!
