roadside assistance

On a sad note:

On my way home today, I was driving on Route 517 near the yellow blinking light. I saw something near the side of the road and, as I got closer recognized it as a turtle. I turned around to try to rescue it from the heavy traffic. I ran into the road, only to see that it had already been hit. Even worse, it was still alive. I moved it to the grassy field on the side of the road. Umm...maybe it'll be okay.

It's so sad. [sniff]

The other day I was driving to work and some geese were crossing the road, then they're little goslings started crossing the road. Very cute. There was one car in front of me, and he was stopped letting them cross, but he was all up on them, kept like inching forward. It made me very very mad. I almost got out of my car, and I'd never do that.

He didn't run over any of them but it was so dumb, geese, he couldn't be 2 minutes late to his crap job and watch some nature, and cute little animals crossing the road. Aarrghgh.

Also, I was at my parent's the other day, they live on a lagoon down at Long Beach Island. And there were some Swans coming down the lagoon and they stopped at the end, where our house is. It was two Swans (I guess mom+dad) and one of them had two little swanlings(?) on its back, just chilling for the ride. I didn't know they did that. very interesting.

Baby swans are called "cygnets." I never knew that. Oddly enough, I found the answer here. heheh.
