Weekend Update
by Man, what a nice weekend! The weather was perfect. I went to a graduation party for Nicole out on Long Island on Friday night. I had a really nice time. (This is the same party mentioned in musings #3036 - #3040) Nicole has a great house right on the water, and there was a great DJ there spinning records, as well as a couple of live performances. (Great job Ramon!) The only bad thing about the party was that it took us like two and a half hours to get there. That's a long drive, especially through that area. And, I was following BG, who just so happens to be one of those drivers you'd call a "maniac!" after they cut you off at the toll booth. But, I really got to use the WRX to its full potential, so that was cool. Man, I love my car!
Then Sunday, right after the meeting, I drove down to Sea Isle City to visit Mikayla and her family. She's down there this whole week for a family reunion, and she and her parents and sister will be at my meeting on this coming Sunday. I hadn't seen her in like 2 weeks. That is so hard to do.
What else is new? Umm... there's lots of good news to tell you, but I'm going to wait a little while before I just post it all up here.
Oh, I just bought Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon on DVD. I had never seen it, but after hearing such great things about it and all the awards it received, I figured it would be a good purchase. I loved it! I wish I had seen it in the theatres though... the movie was artistically beautiful, and the story, while simple, was intriguing. Many scenes reminded me of dreams I have had, where I could fly or gracefully jump very long distances and control my rate of descent. hehehe, but anyway.... Now I'm gonna have to watch it again with English dubbing instead of subtitles and see what that's like.

what my original reply was meant to be, is a comedic form known as irony. Since Bolivia has been known as a war torn country in years past, I thought it would be ironic to ask Ian to 'bring me back some shrapnel' as a souvenir. I have never been to Bolivia, so I can't say if my statements are acurate, however, I hope you have at least found them to be amusing.

they're actually in order. it's an order called "threading." basically, all replies to a comment are at the same indentation level, and further comments get indented even more. so, if you write a comment, and there are two replies to it, they will be indented one level. then if somebody replies to the first reply, it will be indented two levels, and displayed in between the two replies.
i hope it's not too confusing.

i saw CTHD a few weeks ago, and after all the hype, i was mildly disapointed. the movie was too fairytale like for my liking, and wasn't at all what i was expecting. I guess it was an okay movie, but i don't think i'd ever be crazy enough to watch it again.

I liked the movie actually, when i first saw it, i was complaining that it wasnt like good ole jackie chan. But jesse brought out a good point, it wasnt made to BE a realistic movie, so then i really liked it.... hmmm yea..
he brought out that point to me before i even saw it, and i still thought it was stupid. i just didnt find it all that spectacular, it was okay at best. the movie as a whole was disjointed, and the attempts at being funny were just annoying. plus i stayed up way too late watching it :)
